This is our JD Crowe thumb pick in a size medium. This pick was designed by JD Crowe and constructed to his very exacting specifications. The BCT-JDL is the exact pick that JD uses. The pick bears JD's initials on the inside between the rivets. It is constructed using a custom designed stainless steel band and a 50/1000 of an inch(1.25mm) thick BlueChip pick. These picks are laser etched, professionally machined, and hand beveled to create the best thumb pick available.
Size compares to a standard medium thumb pick of any brand.

You just won't believe it till you try a BlueChip pick. The first note tells the story. I was suprised when my wife said she could tell the difference about halfway thru the first tune. Very crisp notes.

How often I have purchased a new thumb pick hoping that it would help out and yet it didn't. Finally, yes finally, someone has got it right. Musicians have had to put up for the last 90 years since finger picks have been used with literally uncomfortable, marginally acceptable thumb picks. And finally we have the blue chip. It is a total game changer. Thank you - thank you blue chip engineers for making these precision units so perfect. Again I say thank you... I bought 2 for me, and one for my father who has been playing slide since 1941. He initially mentioned the high price, but he is also very very pleased with the engineered effort for this simple device.

I love Blue Chip picks in general. But, the Thumb Pick is much wider than what I am used to, therefore it is a little harder getting off the string than the smaller one that I normally use. I do not play a lot of finger style, and some one who plays that way might love the tone and feel of these picks. I bought a medium, and perhaps I would have liked the feel of a "Large" better. If I keep it, I will have to rework the "Playing end" as it is just too wide.

The search for the right thumb-pick is over.
As being playing the 5-string banjo for over 40 years, I am glad to finally got this Blue Chip thumb-pick that stick to my thumb and gives a TONE that is clear and precise.
I had to buy a new one as that I lost the previous BCT-JDM - just got to have the same again! Thanks for making such a great product!

I just can't believe how tough it is! I used to have to polish my thumb picks. They would get rough after just hours of playing. The JDM looks like I just bought it after many hours of playing. It sounds great, looks great, fits great, and it requires absolutely no maintenance. Thank you!

Having worn my 20+ plus year yellowed and worn down to a nub original National pick down to a tiny little stub, I have been on the hunt for a decent thumb pick.
I'm one of those in a band, playing out contemporary folk people and pout in about 5- 7 hours of time a week on my Taylors and an older Gurian.
This pick is phenomenal in terms of the lack of noise, clarity of tone in the midrange and bass of the guitars and smoothness of attack. And it fits! I often need something between a small and medium and the flexibility of the band gives me a great fit with no sliding.
Now if I can our mandolin player to get one, I would be thrilled. Only problem is her 3 year old likes to steal away with her picks and put them in their houseplants!
Anway, make that 5 kisses, not stars!

The JD Thumb pick feels like an extension of my thumb. I am enjoying it very much. It is very comfortable and the tone is so much better than what I used previously. I am glad I made the purchase. I also own the TAD-3R 40 flat pick and yes, I like it also!!!
