This is our JD Crowe thumb pick in a size medium. This pick was designed by JD Crowe and constructed to his very exacting specifications. The BCT-JDL is the exact pick that JD uses. The pick bears JD's initials on the inside between the rivets. It is constructed using a custom designed stainless steel band and a 50/1000 of an inch(1.25mm) thick BlueChip pick. These picks are laser etched, professionally machined, and hand beveled to create the best thumb pick available.
Size compares to a standard medium thumb pick of any brand.

Besides the design / fit being perfect for the person for whom it was purchased, both of us remark on the different tone that is evident when doing A-B tests with others - natural projection seems better and clarity is a bit more pronounced when compared to the three other good quality picks in our informal testing. Anyhow, we're hooked.

After trying out a lot of different thumb picks and wearing out the ones I'm really content with to the point where it's just a half pick left (because of my technique), I finally came to my senses and ordered a Blue Chip thumb pick. I've heard so much about these picks and needless to say, it's all true. They're extremely wear resistant, so instead of wearing them out, they help me correct my technique. Thank you, Blue Chip!

5 stars across the board for Tim and his team! The JD-M thumb pick is now an irreplacable part of my gear. I can't imagine ever going back to a plain 'ol plastic thumb pick again.
Thanks Blue Chip!

Have been using this pick extensively since purchased. The hi tech material is very smooth on the strings. The picking surface is very close in shape to what Earl recommends for pick shape to enhance tone, which it does nicely. While comfortable, it is somewhat difficult to make adjustments for fit. The loop around the thumb can have a tendency to catch strings while picking, and requires a bit more effort to reshape and/or cut down than plastic picks. Overall, this pick provides a nice sound and should, hopefully, last a long time.

After 20+ years of searching for a thumb pick that has great tone, long life, and perfect feel,I've settled on this JD signature pick. I've been a fan of Bluechip flatpicks for a while now,and this thumb pick ranks with them as the best! Thanks Bluechip for making my ole flathead ring like never before.

This is a great thumb pick, I have the BCT-1M which i found a little long but this is a bit shorter and much easier for me to get along with.
Fantastic tone it really is quite remarkable, just so clear and crisp even more so that the Blur Chip flat pick that I use. I have never been a thumb pick person but I am now.

Love the sound quality of the BCT thumb pick. I had to adjust somewhat because the pick strikes a bit deeper than other thumb picks. I would purchase another if I lost this one.

You just won't believe it till you try a BlueChip pick. The first note tells the story. I was suprised when my wife said she could tell the difference about halfway thru the first tune. Very crisp notes.

How often I have purchased a new thumb pick hoping that it would help out and yet it didn't. Finally, yes finally, someone has got it right. Musicians have had to put up for the last 90 years since finger picks have been used with literally uncomfortable, marginally acceptable thumb picks. And finally we have the blue chip. It is a total game changer. Thank you - thank you blue chip engineers for making these precision units so perfect. Again I say thank you... I bought 2 for me, and one for my father who has been playing slide since 1941. He initially mentioned the high price, but he is also very very pleased with the engineered effort for this simple device.

I love Blue Chip picks in general. But, the Thumb Pick is much wider than what I am used to, therefore it is a little harder getting off the string than the smaller one that I normally use. I do not play a lot of finger style, and some one who plays that way might love the tone and feel of these picks. I bought a medium, and perhaps I would have liked the feel of a "Large" better. If I keep it, I will have to rework the "Playing end" as it is just too wide.
