This is our JD Crowe thumb pick in a size large. This pick was designed by JD Crowe and constructed to his very exacting specifications. The BCT-JDL is the exact pick that JD uses. The pick bears JD's initials on the inside between the rivets. It is constructed using a custom designed stainless steel band and a 50/1000 of an inch(1.25mm) thick BlueChip pick. These picks are laser etched, professionally machined, and hand beveled to create the best thumb pick available.
Size compares to a standard large thumb pick of any brand.

This thumb pick is fantastic. I play a lot of Travis-picking finger-style guitar, and use a thumb pick w/ two metal finger picks like a banjo player.
I've tried all kinds of different shapes, sizes, materials and this one is the best. You get the strength and comfort of the metal around your thumb, but the nice round tone of the Blue Chip material against the strings. Perfect combo, super comfortable, great tone. Buy this.

I have a couple of BlueChip flat picks, and when I decided to up my acoustic fingerpicking game I figured the JD would be worth a shot. At first, I had a hard time getting used to it; I probably spent a week playing with the fit since it didn't feel as snug as I liked. But I soon figured out that these are a whole different ballgame than the typical plastic thumb pick and I needed to realign my thinking. I realized that I get the same amount of control without needing a super-snug fit, which has resulted in fewer hangnails and a happier thumb overall. That, combined with the smooth tone and great responsiveness makes it pretty much impossible for me to go back to the usual plastic thumb pick.

This is a very nice pic very comfortable but I still get a little scratching noise with this pic. Another pic I really like is pro pic that is a very comfortable pick but I believe it is a little more noisey than the JD Blue Chip.

I like my pick a lot. The only thing is maybe I should have gotten a medium instead of a large. It works ok and feels good but does slide around my finger a little.

These feel really different compared to your average thumb pick. They don’t fit snug but they don’t slide around your thumb like they’re loose. I didn’t need to bend it to fit. I’ve been using the Fred Kelly slick picks for quite a while now before getting the BC Thumbpick. Just comes down to getting used to that loose feel. But I can really power down on the strings and the pick stays put! Also, it doesn’t catch on the string when I do play heavy! You gotta try a $40 thumb pick at least once in your life.

Have been using the pick for a few weeks now. Wonderful. Everyone needs this pick. Fit it great and the resulting sound is rich , crisp and just right.

After having used a different brand pick for many years, decided to try the Blue Chip and have been very happy. It produces a great, clear, tone, and even helps me achieve a more clear pull-off. The ergonomics of the pick allow for it to simply slide on and start playing. No need to adjust anything. I've been very happy with it.

This is a very well made and comfortable pick. The more I use it, the more I like it. I seem to be getting more punch out of my Huber banjo. I pick deep into the pick, so I hang on the band occasionally but that is my own fault. It feels loose but never slips. It is good to pick for long periods of time without blood circulation loss!

Very well ajusted to the thumb and confortable even for long session. Produce a very warm and round sound. A bit pricey but worth it.

Fast off the strings and delivers a great tone. My new standard. My greatest surprise was the comfort level. The pick has a confident grip but never feels tight or loose. Well made craftsmanship, something very special.
