Product Description
This is our JD Crowe thumb pick in a size large. This pick was designed by JD Crowe and constructed to his very exacting specifications. The BCT-JDL is the exact pick that JD uses. The pick bears JD's initials on the inside between the rivets. It is constructed using a custom designed stainless steel band and a 50/1000 of an inch(1.25mm) thick BlueChip pick. These picks are laser etched, professionally machined, and hand beveled to create the best thumb pick available.
Size compares to a standard large thumb pick of any brand.

love the carson blade

Really like the thumb pick with the Carson blade.Now my thumb doesn't hit the strings.

Been using the JDL for a number of years now, and it's performance for me, has no comparison.
My reasons for using the JDL are the same as most people that use the product. Comfort on the thumb, (not dealing with your pick loosening after a short time or so tight it's uncomfortable. The other being the even tone you get- no scratchiness as with typical plastic thumbpicks.
Your product, in my opinion, is superior.

As a guitarist for over 25 years and a banjo player for about 5, I've used many different brands and styles of thumb picks. I made the switch from a Propik thumbpick as my preferred one to the blue chip and haven't looked back. Less string noise, noticeable tone difference, superior comfort, and the knowledge that this pick will last a long time has made me a very happy customer.

Have used these for a few years and found them to be all a thumb pick should be. Phenomenal comfort and wear characteristics. Every banjo player I know has a couple if extra plastic picks hooked to his banjo brackets, because they loosen on your thumb from body heat. With these picks, it's not a problem. They stay comfortable on your thumb all night. The only.pick you'll need for months!

TD 50 Attached To Large Band

Customized large band with TD-50 pick. I modified the pick to be a bit shorter and gave it a right hand speed bevel. From the top of the pick that's connected to the band to the tip; measures 31/32". I like to ride the bottom of the band slightly below the edge of the thumb cuticle. This gives me the feel of a flat pick while opening up to finger style. I guess it's fair to say, "I'm getting closer to the ultimate thumb pick that sounds and feels amazing." I have two more customized Blue Chip Thumb Picks that are a 50 and 60 thickness that mimic the Fred Kelly Slick Pick which are my go to. I like and own the TD-50, TP-50, and TP-1R 60. Now that I'm invested with the Blue Chip Company maybe they will give me a free pick of my choice for Christmas. No ones laughing...I'm dead serious! Say it again Goober Pyle...

The JD Banjo thumb pick improves sound/tone a lot, compared to my plastic pick. Shorter blade is perfect for me. Fit is good (Large), but my thumb shape leaves a bit of a gap in upper band. Service was fast and excellent.

Best Thumb Pick I've Ever Had

I have been playing banjo for about 6 years. I've experimented with quite a few different thumb picks but could never really settle on one. I read about Blue Chips on many forums and found a lot of people were raving about them. I bought a JDL along with the Sammy Shelor finger picks. As soon as I put them on I could feel the difference in how they fit my fingers. Then I began picking my banjo and I could hear the difference in tone. My banjo is pretty loud and with the other picks I used the tone almost seemed annoying at times. With the JDL and Shelor picks the tone has been smoothed out and because of this I play my banjo a lot more. Keep up the good work!
