This is our JD Crowe thumb pick in a size large. This pick was designed by JD Crowe and constructed to his very exacting specifications. The BCT-JDL is the exact pick that JD uses. The pick bears JD's initials on the inside between the rivets. It is constructed using a custom designed stainless steel band and a 50/1000 of an inch(1.25mm) thick BlueChip pick. These picks are laser etched, professionally machined, and hand beveled to create the best thumb pick available.
Size compares to a standard large thumb pick of any brand.

Fit well with some shaping, I like how short the thumb pick is for me but I’m pretty new to using one.

it is very comfortable, stays on your thumb. A very nice pick. i have used it for a couple of weeks and it does not show any sign of wear. im sure it will last a long time. i use it on both guitar and banjo. It prob has a total of 25 hours on it.

Found myself without my faithful Blue Chip - not lost but not readily available either. Bought the second one to use while I am away. I bought the large even though I don't consider my hands to be particularly large but the large fit perfectly without any adjustment.

I ordered the large size as recommended by the description as I currently use a Jim Donlop large plastic thumb pick. It just doesn’t fit as tightly as I am used to so I did not have the control I’m used too. It wasn’t a matter of size as the way it fit me. The pick arrived in excellent condition and finish was superb. The good thing is BlueChip is allowing me to exchange it for a pick of my choice. It’s great to deal with such a reliable company.

I have been using Dunlop large picks (metal and plastic) for over 40 years. It amazing how much better the BlueChip pick hugs my thumb. I also love the sound produced by it.
I would have given it a 5-star rating if it was a tighter fit. I always used a large Dunlop pick and thought the BlueChip would be similar. It is fairly snug but only if it is positioned next to my knuckle. If it was less expensive I would try the medium size to see if it was a better fit.

I use the BlueChip JD version for pedal steel. It fits better than any other thumbpick I've tried and remains comfortable throughout the gig. It also sounds very good. Highly recommended...I bought another in case I lose it.

Best thumb pick I've ever tried. Holds firmly on my thumb and blade is exactly there where it should be. I will buy another and refer to friends. Thanks for excellent product!

having a wide thumb, I always have trouble finding a pick that's comfortable for extended playing time. no more. these are perfect. fit is awesome. like a piece of jewelry. being an old disabled veteran, it was hard to justify the expense. so glad I took the plunge. playing banjo is sort of a therapy for me and now it's more enjoyable and my playing is better. top notch quality and should last for years.

I played professionally about ten years ago but chose another path in life. A coworker recently pressured me to bring my banjo into work. I played for them, rust and all, then my trusty GG thumb pick broke. Not having my stash on me or an extra (backup banjo) I had to play claw hammer.
I don’t always buy into hype, but I finally broke down and bought one. I remembered trying out a Blue Chip last Memorial Day and liking it. I was torn as which version to get. As soon as I opened the package and hit a tune I knew I got the right one. Comfort and tone were evident right out of the box. I feel that I would also like the other models, but may be inclined to shorten the blade, so I chose the JD-L.
I’m sold!
