    Standard Blue Chip thumb pick

Posted by Arnie Fleischer on 11th Sep 2017

I'm not new to this pick. I talked to Matthew shortly after it came on the market years ago and he sent me one gratis. Some time later I switched to the JD pick and used that for several years. But then, this past April, out of curiosity, I went back to the original design and decided that I preferred it to the JD because of the blade size and shape and the way the band felt on my thumb. I placed this order to have a back-up pick, but the way they last I may never get to use it!

    BCT-1L ThumbPick

I like the fit and feel coming off the bass strings of the guitar. A little pricey - but a good investment.

already ordered a backup because I like it them so well

I have been using Blue Chip flat picks for several years now. So when I recently decided to learn how to play the banjo, I naturally had to "try out" the Blue Chip thumb pick. I wear an x-large glove size , but the "Large" sized thumb pick fit my big thumb nicely. The blade length works well for me, and the material in which the blade is made feels virtually frictionless against the strings.

    Hard to beat

Posted by Steve Parker on 7th Oct 2016

I've purchased at least 6 bluechip thumb picks and you'd be hard pressed to find a smoother material. If there is any negative, it's that you can't shorten the blade length yourself without introducing a scratchy sound. At least I've not been able to. One reason is they put a beveled edge on it. But to Matt's credit at Bluechip, they are always willing to customize to your desire and are great to work with. Very quick to respond to any question or request. Customer Service is where I separate vendors. Matt and his team do a GREAT job!

    snug fit

Posted by Steve on 10th Aug 2016

I like the design and fit The tone (I play dobro) is good but still not as clean and sharp as the pro pik (which doesn't fit as snug/tight as the blue chip). Can't understand why since the material is supposed to be the same

    best thumb pick I've owned

Posted by Paul Forsyth on 4th Jan 2016

I've used plastic thumb picks in the past. They were just okay. This thumb pick fits snug and comfortably. I'm able to get great volume on my guitar's ithe bass notes and quicker response, ttoo. Highly recommend it.

    The best!

Posted by JOHN RICHARDS on 11th Aug 2015

This thumb pick is the best banjo accessory that I've ever purchased. The pick is comfortable but more importantly is streamlined compared to traditional plastic thumbpicks. And an added bonus is that it improves the sound of my banjo (Huber) dramatically, if that's possible. It's well worth the investment.

    superior product

Posted by Ben Schuck on 8th Jul 2015

I'm new to banjo playing. A little over a year now. The pick I had before was only 6 months old and was worn down. Someone recommended Blue Chip so I got one. Had it for a year now and hardly any wear on it at all and it just slides smoothly across strings. I like it so much that I bought another one in case I lose it or misplace it. Definately recommend getting one.
