Play a Merrill and a Martin. I switch between Bluchips and Wegens. I like the white Wegens for jams at night, in case I drop the pick.

If you haven't tried this pick then it's impossible to know the difference it will create in your playing. While technique is so much more than a pick, it's crucial to have something that is not in the way of your perception of sound. Most or all of the picks I have tried during the 40 years I have been playing, they come with either too much pick noise or to some extent get stuck in the strings. In the playing style of say intricate fast single lines or rapid ringing arpeggios, smooth or percussive rhythms on chords, this pick is the thing - it glues to your fingers, yield to nothing, yet it never becomes rigid or clumsy. I sincerely wish a had this pick a long time ago. But better late than never. And inspiring to get to know something that actually works and makes a difference in this world where words generally sound more interesting than the actual thing they describe. Try it.

  4. Worth EVERY PENNY! 5 Star Review

I work at a major music retail store, which doesn't carry these picks. I've been on a quest for years to find a pick that didn't impede my progress as a guitarist. I have a pretty considerable collection of boutique guitar picks, most of which I like, some that I really love. After getting this pick in the mail and spending some time with it (I altered the speed-bevel on the pointed tips to my personal taste), it has become my FAVORITE pick in my entire collection. It had BETTER be! It's the most expensive! My co-workers think I'm nuts for spending $40 on a single pick. But seriously, $35 is a minuscule price to pay to make a dramatic difference in the playability of your setup. Your picking hand will thank you for your investment. This is the first pick that I've used that really felt like an extension of my body. The pick grips your fingers but slides off the strings like it's covered in butter. I can see this being my go-to pick for a long time!

  5. Simply best 5 Star Review

Prior to ordering a BC-pick I have been playing a V-pick 1.5mm large rounded for about a year. I really like the feel and sound of V-picks but have had constant problems with wear, *clink* sounds and pick noise. The edge of the V would become worn and make scratching sounds and V-picks always *clink*.

The BC pick has none of that. Fantastic tone, surprisingly bright for the thickness. No wear what so ever yet. Glass like surface with extreme speed. Great grip. Minimal *clinking* sound. Just awesome.

    Pick problem solved.

  6. BlueChip The Super Pick 5 Star Review

I ordered this pick as a gift for a picking buddy of mine, so I haven't played this particular pick, but I personally own (2)different straight picks, and (2) different thumb picks. I have been playing music over 30 years and have never used anything comparable to these BlueChip picks in tone, or in wear. I wish I knew how many are playing a Bluechip now because they tried mine out.

  8. My only Mando pick 5 Star Review

Posted by on 26th Apr 2012

I recently got my TP-1R 60 in the mail. Man its awsome!!! I know many mandolin players that swore bluechip was the only thing worth using, but at first was skeptical that it would be worth the 35 bucks. Well I'm now a believer, I was amazed at how impressive the tone of the pick was. So if your wondering if it's worth spending the money for, take it from me. Best 35 dollars I've ever spent on my music!!

  9. Absolute Tops ! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 18th Nov 2010

The most truly awesome pick I've ever played. This pick allows me to draw out the most tone from my guitars. With the slightest turn between thumb and index finger,I can have the radius corner striking the strings with the sweetest of tone !
