This is the TAD-1R pick in 40/1000th of an inch(1.0mm) thickness. It is identical to the TAD, but HAS ONE ROUNDED CORNER. All of our picks are professionally machined, hand beveled, and laser etched.
Quarters, Nickels and Dimes, if included in the pictures, are for size reference only. They are not etched on the picks or included with the sale. To use this reference, please place a coin on your current non-Bluechip pick and then compare to the pictures of our picks with coins on top of them. This will help you choose the pick that is closest to your current favorite size and shape.

I have three sets of TAD-1R 40, 50, and 60. One set on house keyring. One set in guitar accessory bag. And one set in a leather wrist cuff that holds three picks that I wear when playing. A lot of money to tie up in guitar picks but the best picks I've owned. Never want to get caught without. Very clear tone quality. Multiple corners allow for different tonalities. Long lasting. Makes my Taylor K66CE sound especially ethereal.

I especially like this pic when playing my dreadknots it gives good tone and good volume which I need when I'm playing Bluegrass with loud banjos and mandolins.

Blue Chip plastic is pretty magical stuff. Somehow it's glossy smooth but grips better than any textured pick and, despite heavy use, doesn't seem to wear significantly. They also have none of the annoying string slap or gritty roll off noise of say a Fender phenolic pick while giving the perfect amount of staccato to flat picking. Wish they weren't so dang expensive, but if you have the discipline to keep track of them, they are truly worth $35.

I've been playing guitar for over 50 years. So, as you can imagine, I've used lots of different picks over that time. BC picks are my favorite. One problem I have found with other picks is that at times they produce a chirping sound. BC picks are virtually silent. I think these picks provide the best way of producing the best sound from my acoustic guitars. They seem like they will be long lasting - but only time will tell. I now own four BC picks, and they are always the first pick I reach for.

I've been playing Blue Chip picks for over 6 years now. Prior to that I had worked through 3-4 different brands but, kept coming back to Blue Chip. The quality and workmanship of their picks is outstanding. I recently added a TAD40-1R to the arsenal. Currently using a TP50-1R for guitar and a CT55 for mandolin. The TAD40-1R is very versatile and crosses over to various instruments with ease. I will look no further for picks. Sold on Blue Chip.

Makes my Taylor 12 string sound absolutely incredible. It sounds like it's just been recorded!

TAD40-1R - this is two different sounds in one hand. So I play Bach with the round end and french romantic with the sharp end.

I really like this pick for the clear fat tone I get when using the rounded corner. When I received this pick I sat down and did side by side test with this and other picks I use for strumming and single note playing. I did this on both a rosewood and mahogany acoustics. Without a doubt I can hear a more rich clear tone with the BlueChip Pick than any of the others I use. I could hear it while playing and I could hear it when I recorded the test. The BlueChip does take a little getting use to as it does slide over the strings fast and smooth. The difference in tone is subtle but it is there and for me that alone makes the cost worthwhile.
