After playing my TAD-40 for a couple weeks, I am still impressed with the sound and durability of this pick.

Easy to hold on to. Produces a much improved tone. My search for the perfect pick has finally ended with the TAD-40.

I gotta admit, I was surprised to find myself ordering not one, but 4 of these TAD 40 picks at a cost of $140. A friend had gifted a smaller version to me a couple of years ago but I really didn’t use it much due to its smaller size and my being accustomed to a larger pick. Ultimately I ordered these to prove they were worth it.
I ordered 4 because I have several guitars in a couple of different locations and wanted to have them handy so I would use them consistently. After using these for a while now, I am convinced they are a superior pick.
Though smooth, the surface of the material is surprisingly ‘grippy’ which I like and need. These are thicker than picks I’ve used for years but I have been very happy with the control and tone. I primarily play a 1995 Martin J-40, a 2012 Collings D-3 and a 1969 Gibson Hummingbird. All three instruments respond well and sound amazing with the Blue Chip connection.
I Love these picks! Now, if I can just keep from losing them. But if I do, I’ll purchase again because they’re worth the price.

I like the way it feels in my hand,
I like the tone it produces,
I like the color.
In fact I like it so much I bought one for my son,
And he likes it too!
I will be buying more.

I like the Blue Chip TAD 40.
I also like the Blue Chip TP 50 and the Blue Chip BC Jazz LG 40
The distinct difference in tone is remarkable
I just wonder why they are not a nice shade of Blue....cobalt blue for instance
I keep misplacing them on my mahogany desktop. They blend right in!

TAD 40, for me, provides the right size and just the right amount of "give" for mandolin chop and lead breaks. The TAD 50 works well, too, for the times I need a little stiffer action. Both high-quality products with the right bevel, and lasts a long time. However, product deliver time was painfully slow.

About as close to tortoise style pick that I’ve ever used. With just a little softer tone than tortoise. Great Pick.

This pick is very fast, smooth, and sounds great. I did a tone test against 4 other standard picks and there is no comparison. It has improved my flat-picking in all ways. I hope I never lose it, but if I do, I'll buy a replacement ASAP.

Great Pick. large format makes it easier to hold on fast passages (playing a lot of mandolin lately). I also have a CT55 which produces a sharper tone but is correspondingly harder to play through strings.
The TAD40 is a little easier to play than the CT55 as it's thinner. I've been leaning towards the CT55 but it's a matter of personal preference.
an other benefit of the larger pick format is I'm more aware of the angle of the pick making recovery between up and down strokes more consistent.
I also bought a TD40. Great Pick in a more traditional format. Excellent if you want a slightly smaller but high quality pick.
Again - Great Pick - worth the price if you're serious.
