Product Description

The TP is our classic triangular pick in a 40/1000 of an inch thickness(1.0mm). The TP is the same size as the TPR, but has slightly sharper corners. All of our picks are professionally machined, hand beveled, and laser etched.

Quarters, Nickels and Dimes, if included in the pictures, are for size reference only. They are not etched on the picks or included with the sale. To use this reference, please place a coin on your current non-Bluechip pick and then compare to the pictures of our picks with coins on top of them. This will help you choose the pick that is closest to your current favorite size and shape.

I am a luthier. I include one of the TP40's with each of my guitars.
Your picks bring out the best in my acoustic guitars.

  2. The only pick I use 5 Star Review

I have gotten so used to the shape, the rigidity, the grip and the tone of my TP-40 that I don't use anything else. I'm thankful that you can get a left-handed bevel, too! It really has made an impact on my playing.

  3. My go-to pick 5 Star Review

For the kind of mandolin playing I do--mostly fiddle tunes--this pick has great stiffness, feel, and sensitivity.

  4. Excellent quality, tone and feel... 5 Star Review

Posted by on 12th Jun 2018

I'm a full-time musician and been using heavy celluloid for decades. Well a fellow member on the acoustic Guitar Forum sent me a Blue Chip TAD40-1R as a gift when I bought my D-18 a few years back and I loved it. So I thought I would treat myself to another with a custom engraving. Bluechip Picks get rave revirews over on the AGF of which I've been a charter member for many years and have read many a praise to the grip, feel, tone and swift attack ability of the Bluechip material and speed bevel. I play a huge variety of music as a soloist so dynamics are key for me and the BC delivers. Worth every penny and a joy to play with!

  5. best pick ever 5 Star Review

I've played bluegrass/bluegrass gospel for 34 yrs but I'm just now taking up acoustic guitar, I've always played bass & when I took up guitar I had trouble holding a pick until a friend told me to try blue chip picks, I've always heard of blue chip but really never played with one because of I was playing bass, it changed my whole outlook of playing & has made me better & now I want to practice & be the best I can.

I have ordered about 18 Blue Chip picks so that speaks for itself. Nothing else needs to be said. Great picks and great personnell to work and talk with.

  7. Bluechip TP40 review 5 Star Review

I really love this pick. It is so responsive, and gives my guitar more volume in sound. I do have to say that after using lighter picks to play with that I am still getting use to it. But altogether, I really like this pick and will most likely buy another in the near future. Thanks for making such a great product.

Best feeling and sounding pick I have ever used in almost 50 years of playing guitar.

  10. TP40 5 Star Review

Posted by on 8th Jan 2018

This is my 2nd Bluechip Pick. I play bluegrass and was recommended by several musicians. My first pick was a TD 35 which is a good pick. I decided to go with something bigger and all I can say is wow. This is a fast pick with no noticable pick noise. I highly recommend this Bluechip picks. I like them so much I bought my son and my best friend one each.
