Product Description

The STP is a smaller version of the TP. It is the same basic size as our Kenny Smith signature pick, but has sharper corners. The STP in a 50 thickness is the pick that Adam Steffey currently uses. This is the STP in 40/1000ths of an inch thickness(1.0mm). All of our picks are professionally machined, hand beveled, and laser etched. This pick comes with a speed bevel.

  1. Great pick 5 Star Review

Posted by on 31st Oct 2019

This is a very nice pick though a bit small compared to the size I'm used to. I wish it had been a bit easier to compare the pick sizes to standard issue picks as a reference. As for the tone, it works wonderfully for playing leads on acoustic or electric guitar as it maximizes the fundamental sound of the string and minimizes pick sound.

  2. great pick! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 29th Jul 2019

This pick has great tone, very secure between the fingers and just the right amount of stiffness for my style of playing. The company has been excellent in with their customer service and quick in their answers to any questions I had. I highly recommend their picks.

  3. The Hat Trick Pick 5 Star Review

Posted by on 11th Jan 2019

I use Bluechip Thumb and Finger Picks as often as the Flat Picks , maybe even more so as I love Finger Pickin; the best .
However sometimes a player has to have it both ways , and this requires a mode of switching between the two regimens.
Of course using Thumb and Finger picks while trying to do the hat trick with a flat pick is almost impossible ...so the order here with my STP40 is to flat pick with the ability to Palm the Pick and alternate to continue with a bare finger picking style ,,,That is the Hat Trick in a nut shell which provides a very nice dynamic differential in the music . The Smaller Size of STP picks easily affords any Guitarist to pull off such a Hat Trick, and not lose the Pick inadvertently in order to be able switch back and forth with fluidity ...A great Pick because it is more standard to normal sized Guitar Picks , only you really have to keep your eye on an STP , they can be easy to lose should you become careless and drop it outside say in Grass or in after Dark areas . Thick enough to deliver proper energy , thin enough for flexibility , I advise an STP as a regular part of your Plectrum inventory

  4. Handles all my acoustic needs 5 Star Review

It took some time to find, but this is THE pick for me when playing acoustic guitar. It handles the lead parts as well as the rhythm. Handles the dynamics of rhythm very well and, for me, is the perfect size and shape, Great tone, great grip, and a pleasure to play with. And, I don't loan it out, no way, never. After playing it for a week, I ordered another. Expensive yes, but for me, well worth it.

After procrastinating about purchasing this pick, I have no regrets. Hand down the best of the best! I even ordered another one. Work great for my Guitar or Mandolin

  6. The STP is the best pick I've ever used... 5 Star Review

Posted by on 9th Mar 2017

I'm a rookie guitar player but I have spent a lot of money on picks while trying to find the right one for me. My previous favorite pick was the Tortex Jazz XL but I tried Blue Chip on a whim and I'm glad I did because now I am spoiled. I enjoy the tone but the main criteria for me are size and feel.

The STP is the perfect size for my hand. Its shorter than a Jazz LG but bigger than a Jazz (which was too small for me). The absolute best selling point is the feel. The Blue Chip material doesn't feel hard, cold, and plasticy like most picks do. Its difficult to describe but its kinda hard, warm, and sticky without being annoying. When I first tried the pick, after 10 minutes of playing, I literally forgot that I was holding it in my hand. Seriously, the brand new pick felt THAT at home in my hand. If you are curious, just place an order, don't get it engraved (so you can return it if necessary) if you are just trying them out. In my opinion, they are worth the price.

  9. Great size and feel 5 Star Review

Posted by on 2nd Jun 2016

I found the STP to be a great size for electric guitar, especially. The speed, smoothness and tone are exceptional and you can finesse great dynamics out of this pick. I got the round bevel and one rounded corner for my own style and needs. Thanks to Matthew and Allen for meeting my needs and their great service.

  10. Love Love Love 5 Star Review

Posted by on 23rd Mar 2016

I was sceptical, i admit it, that's a lot of money for a pick but i love these STP picks. I started with a 50 and am now completely hooked on the 40. It's perfect for the (looser, played with feel) electric bluesy stuff i like to play, not too stiff and such nice attack/tone.
