Product Description

The TP is our classic triangular pick in a 40/1000 of an inch thickness(1.0mm). The TP is the same size as the TPR, but has slightly sharper corners. All of our picks are professionally machined, hand beveled, and laser etched.

Quarters, Nickels and Dimes, if included in the pictures, are for size reference only. They are not etched on the picks or included with the sale. To use this reference, please place a coin on your current non-Bluechip pick and then compare to the pictures of our picks with coins on top of them. This will help you choose the pick that is closest to your current favorite size and shape.

  1. The Best Pick you can Buy 5 Star Review

Posted by on 16th Nov 2015

OK, the debate rages, $35 for a guitar pick? My opinion, MORE than worth the money. This pick glides across the strings and really allows you to bringing the full range of tone. The 40 yields a very even and somewhat brighter tone. Make my Martin D28 sing. For darker guitar souls, try the 50. These picks are game changers. Also, makes you more mindful of keeping up with them. A few of us pickers had a great conversation about the conditions under which you might retrieve a dropped pick....most of us would go pretty far to retrieve a blue chip....

I am extremely happy with my Blue Chip picks. They are so easy to hang onto with an easy grip and they never seem to wear. I'm sold on them.

  6. It's the one 5 Star Review

Posted by on 9th Sep 2014

I'm a lifelong fingerpicker working to develop some flat pick chops. Seeing the pick as an extension of the instrument I wanted to start at the top and develop with the right tool in my hand. It's great, truly, and the investment enhances my motivation to develop some of the basic chops I should have.

  7. Best pick ever! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 6th Mar 2014

I have been playing guitar for 50+ years, mandolin for more than 4 years, and my BC TD40 is hands down the best pick I have ever used and used and used and used...

Smooth, crisp, impregnable, perhaps even immortal! (Only a slight exaggeration...)

It is NOT too much to pay for a pick like this. I have tried many others, and none compare.

  8. FINALLY A PICK I LOVE! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 23rd Jan 2014

I have been using the old Yeller Dunlops for years in .73 and tried several different Blue Chips and liked them but didn't have the right control for me, then as a last resort tried the TP40 and it felt comfortable right away and after a few weeks really like it. The lighter weight and shape similar to my old picks has worked out great. Plan on ordering a few more in the near future. I have found the key to not losing it is keeping it in the leather pouch. The only drawback for me is cost, at the price I am very protective of them, I have misplaced mine once or twice but since making a conscious effort to keep it in the case and always in my pocket it should last a long time. All in all a great product, just a bit spendy for the average musician.

  9. Seem smaller than I remember? 3 Star Review

Posted by on 9th Jan 2014

I think I have ordered the wrong pick, as it's a wee bit too thin and a wee bit too small!

  10. my favorite pick 5 Star Review

Posted by on 12th Aug 2013

This immediately became my favorite pick. Over the years I've tried custom shapes from Wegen & Red Bear, so I knew what to choose from Blue Chip. I like it better than anything else out there. Thanks for what you do.
