The Jazz LG is a pick that is very similar in shape to our original Jazz pick. It is slightly larger than the regular jazz pick. This is a Jazz LG in a 100/1000 of an inch(2.5mm) thickness. All of our picks a professionally machined, hand beveled, and laser etched. This pick comes with a universal rounded bevel.

  1. BC LG Jazz 100 5 Star Review

Posted by on 16th Mar 2018

I just got a backup for my regular BC LG Jazz 100 and it works great. After many hours with my first 100, I wanted another and it does not disappoint. Highly recommended.

  2. Blue Chip are the best 5 Star Review

I started off with the BC Jazz 35 and then got used to a thicker pick (different brand that wore out too quickly!). You get a much smoother attackl with a thicker pick. After spending some time with the 100, i was able to get even more dynamics out of my right hand and I can still pick plenty fast if I need to.
This pick won't hold you back in any way!

  3. Beyond belief! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 21st Aug 2017

First of all, I must say that I was greatly accommodated by the fulfilling of my unique specifications. Thus, I can't really give a fully relevant review. Still, I've bought four BlueChip picks, and the material is second to none. It has the slickness of ebony and the stickiness of cherry wood; a real tactile feel in your grip. The thickness of a 2.5mm pick is wonderful to hold and to handle with most all flat picking techniques; yes, even strumming (if you know the way of a stiff pick).

Tone is always subjective, but this material really does give your sound fullness; enhancing and never detracting. It utterly does away with clicking noise. Also for a plectrum this thick it's astonishing that squeaking isn't an issue.

The bevel is completely up to you; you will be accommodated. I had mine made up with a sharper angled bevel extending all the way up the sides of the pick (for more give when strumming). A speed bevel may not speed up your picking, but it will brighten your sound a little.

These picks are not only for those that already know how to handle a flat pick well. They may well afford an intermediate player space to grow.

P.s. If cost is an issue to you... you shouldn't be playing guitar [ I'm not saying you have to be rich, but it shouldn't bother you when a luxury hobby ends up forcing you to invest (It's not like your starving in Sudan)].

  4. BC JAZZ LG 100 is a great pick! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 26th Aug 2016

I was very happy with the BC JAZZ LG 80 and am even more pleased with the BC JAZZ LG 100. The Blue Chip material produces the best sound of any pick I've played. There is plenty of clarity with warmth and there is no "chirp" associated with other boutique picks. The tip rolls right through the string. It sounds and works great on my electrics as well as my Martin D16.
5 stars; I highly recommend this pick.

  5. Jazz and beyond 5 Star Review

After 40+ years of playing and trying hundreds of picks, I had never found anything that was the perfect blend of my favorites - tortoise, and the Dunlap JD Jazz Tones - 205 and 208. The LG 100 is just that and I find that it is not only the perfect "jazz" pick but it brings out all the tones of a dreadnaught in bluegrass mode and or 21st century acoustic music on an OM. Thanks Blue Chip!

  6. A great pick, I'm a two time buyer (got to have a backup) 4 Star Review

Posted by on 3rd Oct 2012

I started with a Jazz35 LG and was impressed. When the Jazz100 LG came along I really got with the program, and have been using it almost exclusively. Why 4 stars? Give me a less acute tip and I'll probably swear allegiance for life. A slightly rounder tip is all I'm missing for my style of play...

  7. This has got to be one of, perhaps the, best Jazz XL style picks I've ever played! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 10th Jul 2012

I had originally mis-ordered and got the (also fantastic) Jazz100 non-LG. Matthew was an absolute pro and very easy to work with in terms of getting me swapped out for the pick I had intended to order. Considering that was completely my fault, I felt it was generous of him, his kindness and easy manner were appreciated when I was feeling a little bit dumb for picking the wrong pick. D'oh.

I had already experienced how the tip works since the Jazz100 and the Jazz100 LG are identical there, so I wasn't really in for any surprises. I already knew it would offer superb control and exceptional glide across and plenty of precision to maneuver under and around the strings. Whatever these picks are made from is a brilliant material for making picks, huge kudos to Matthew and everyone for bringing such a quality plectrum material to market and offering it in shapes that are familiar but with their own take on the specifics.

This one has everything that's great about the Jazz100, plus more to hold onto, which is great if you've got big hands. The tips are identical, and the work on the bevel is immaculate (as was the work on the Jazz100). I do recommend getting the normal bevel on this rather than the speed bevel, I don't see how a different tip shape could be preferable to the smooth, precise, easy-to-control default setup.

I only returned the Jazz100 because I had intended to get this one. They are both great picks. Whichever you get, so long as you meant to get it and you know you like a Jazz style pick, you're gonna love it. It's an amazing, high quality pick. I know it isn't cheap, but it also isn't /cheap/, if you understand what I mean. Superb craftsmanship. I could go on, but I think you get the picture. Easy five stars.
