This is our JD Crowe thumb pick in a size medium. This pick was designed by JD Crowe and constructed to his very exacting specifications. The BCT-JDL is the exact pick that JD uses. The pick bears JD's initials on the inside between the rivets. It is constructed using a custom designed stainless steel band and a 50/1000 of an inch(1.25mm) thick BlueChip pick. These picks are laser etched, professionally machined, and hand beveled to create the best thumb pick available.
Size compares to a standard medium thumb pick of any brand.

I absolutely love the BCT-JDM thumb pick designed to JD Crowe’s own specifications. I first ordered a size large and used for a couple of weeks. I have changed my diet so have been losing weight, so The large became too big. So i ordered a medium. I never even considered trying a different brand of a thumb pick when I knew I had to get a smaller size. The size of the pick that hits the strings is perfect. It stays on finger great and makes it easier to hit the strings.
Thanks Bluechip Picks! I’ll be a lifetime customer

I have used the regular JD medium thumbpick previously and liked it. I thought that I would try the new Russ Carson model which has a different pick shape. I like the Carson model even more!
For now, order the BCT-JD(size) and in the Comments state that you want the Russ Carson model. Same price as regular.

I was a skeptic, having used Nationals and Dunlops for decades... I even got good at boiling them in hot water to bend them around to fit better and not have an edge hanging out waiting to grab a string. Blue Chip eliminated that with the bendable metal band that fits perfectly and doesn’t slip. Had to get used to the thickness (lack thereof, really), but the SNAP it gives me made it well worth getting used to.

I loved my blue chip thumb pick the minute I first put it on. Unlike the plastic ones I've used for decades, this one stays put. That and the rigid material the pick is made out of really help my attack to be stronger.

May have needed to get a large size instead of a medium. Will try for awhile. Also, need to get used to the length of the pick, larger than the plastic one I had been using.
Love the tone it gives compared to a plastic pick which started to scratch after awhile and the need to slather it with Vaseline every week or so.

I started up my banjo as soon as my Blue Chip arrived. It took me 30 seconds to realize it fit perfect and I will never use another pick again. Just can’t beat it.. top quality.. light.. no string noise .. makes me a better banjo man.

High quality well designed comfortable pick. I play Scruggs style 5 string banjo. The unique shape improved my sound and speed and accuracy! As comfy as the 1 model is. Not quite the "reach" as the 1 model. It has a shorter snugger feel when contacting my 5 strings. Don't be a cheap ass and buy BlueChip picks! A small investment in your passion...

Love the Blue Chip thumb pick tone from the first one I bought - several years ago now. They last forever, and you can easily adjust the metal loop to fit your thumb - that was a huge selling point for me. They fit, and they don't stretch while you're playing.

I have never been completely satisfied with either a plastic thumb pick or a metal thumb pick, but your pick suits me perfectly. I will never use anything else. In fact, I have bought several extra just in case you decide to stop manufacturing them. Thanks for an excellent pick!
