This is our JD Crowe thumb pick in a size medium. This pick was designed by JD Crowe and constructed to his very exacting specifications. The BCT-JDL is the exact pick that JD uses. The pick bears JD's initials on the inside between the rivets. It is constructed using a custom designed stainless steel band and a 50/1000 of an inch(1.25mm) thick BlueChip pick. These picks are laser etched, professionally machined, and hand beveled to create the best thumb pick available.
Size compares to a standard medium thumb pick of any brand.

Always quality workmanship, good fit, comfortable, GREAT tone, no scratchiness!

This is the most secure fit on your thumb and even if the
business end wears a bit there's no loss of tone. Costs more
but worth it.

Many years ago I suffered a broken neck. After surgery and rhah I have made a full recovery.....Except , since the accident I have not been able to hold a pick....So for many years i have used thumb picks and developed a style where my thumb picks notes as well as carry rhythm and strum.
About 5 years ago I asked the folks at Bluechip to make me a custom TD35 fastened to a large stainless thumb ring.......My whole Guitar playing evolved......some people think I'm damn good........But really it's the Bluechip thumb pick.

These have the best grip and fit of any thumb picks I've ever used! They don't budge and the shape of the band around your finger is very comfortable. Like all BlueChip picks, the grip is fantastic. The tone is also very crisp and the low notes can really pop out nicely. The fit is slightly smaller than the regular Dunlop mediums. So if those are tight on your thumb, maybe consider a large. Very happy with this pick!

Straight up a huge Chris Pandolfi fan boy. He posted to his Instagram that he uses this pick. I bought it. It is light, firm on my finger, and has great tone (Spoiler Alert: It won’t make you as good as Chris Pandolfi, sadly).

I have been fiddling with the banjo all my life...never having had the time to really devote myself to it, so I am like many who are perpetual beginner/intermediates...more beginner sadly.
I have always had trouble with my thumb pick scratching the fifth string. I read that this new J D Crowe pick helped a player who posted about it. So I tried it.
And it is like magic. I never, I repeat, NEVER, now hear that annoying scratching. And it inspires me to practice more. It was so well worth the money.

I am one and a half months new to banjo, and stringed instruments in general. I saw many people in the instructional videos using these so I bought one. I love it, and it doesn't grab the fifth string like the plastic one I started with. It doesn't move on my thumb and just feels solid. I practice just about every day so it's worth it to me! Thanks for making it!

I just started playing banjo. I saw several people using these pics on instructional videos and ordered one. The plastic ones fit tight at first but got loose. This one stays in place and it doesn't grab the fifth string like the other ones. Once I got used to it, I love it. Thanks for making them.
