Product Overview

This is our JD Crowe thumb pick in a size medium. This pick was designed by JD Crowe and constructed to his very exacting specifications. The BCT-JDL is the exact pick that JD uses. The pick bears JD's initials on the inside between the rivets. It is constructed using a custom designed stainless steel band and a 50/1000 of an inch(1.25mm) thick BlueChip pick. These picks are laser etched, professionally machined, and hand beveled to create the best thumb pick available.

Size compares to a standard medium thumb pick of any brand.

    I’m a beginner banjo player and this Blue Chip pick is definitely helping me play better. It fits great and has a great sound. I bought one for my teacher as well. He loves it too. They are worth every penny!

    Best thumb pick I have used. I have the JD Crowe medium. This is not a complaint, but I wish there was a size between medium and large. I stretch the medium just a little.

    You're stuck with the orientation of band and you better just adjust yourself and live with it. My pick snapped right where it's riveted to the band. Instant $40 loss.

    Breaking in a Blue Pick Banjo Pick

    Recently I purchased a blue pick banjo pick, Med, Crowe size for an upcoming birthday present. Since then I've used it about a half dozen times during gigs. The pick is actually a notable upgrade to all the other thumb picks I've used. The material is noticeable quicker off the string plus very light weight. Once I get the band adjusted perfectly for me, it will be a keeper (Unless I lose it). I'm very please and impressed with the product and the company that produces it. All top notch.

    I've had a variety of plastic thumb picks but the Blue Chip JD Crowe is far & away the best. It provides the best tone and the best fit (I ordered the medium).
