I got 3 CT-55 last year and immediately heard improvement in tone and volume, also much smoother picking. However, with thumb pick I really can't tell improvement in volume or tone as much as I was hoping for. But there is a certain aspect of it that I am thrilled to find and that is the security of the pic not moving around my thumb when playing aggresively. It's like an anchor and I've not snag it a single time. Around the house its no big deal, but not snagging while solo gigging is going to be priceless or at least worth the $40 bucks which I originally thought was a bit much. I seem to go for more licks that I use to only dare play with my flat pick, so I'll be getting a couple more of them cause there so hard for me to Keep up with, although eventually they always show up and make me smile!

The title pretty much says it all, there isn't a better thumb pick made. This is my second, the first, which still looks new after 3 years of hard picking is still going strong. I just got in one of the JDC picks as I wanted the shorter blade to help keep me off the banjo head and it does what I thought it would. I also wanted another just in case something happened to my original one, breakage, loss, etc., so I would not have to be without. A standard thumb pick would last me for about a month, give or take...I'm really not sure a person could wear one of these out! Outstanding product and outstanding service, what more could you ask...?

I always used golden gates until i read reviews about this pick and decided to try one. It was love at first use, incredible tone, light weight, and no more "hooked 5th string" that would sometimes happen using the above mentioned thumb pick. This is a well thought out product worth the price!

If you think this pick is on the expensive side, stop and think about the instrument you play. If you're like me, you've sought out an instrument with great playability and great tone. That's what this pick offers; it's an extemely comfortable fit with outstanding tone. Like my instruments, it costs more than a regular stock item. But value is what I'm looking for and I've found it with this thumbpick! I compared it with Golden Gate (fit inconsistent between picks and not the most comfortable with good, bright tone), a Zookie (slightly less bright and better tone; fit good but inconsistent from pick to pick), and the Blue Chip beat them. Tone is on the fuller, slightly darker side with minimal pick noise. I ended up also purchasing the reso model. Love 'em both!
