This is our JD Crowe thumb pick in a size large. This pick was designed by JD Crowe and constructed to his very exacting specifications. The BCT-JDL is the exact pick that JD uses. The pick bears JD's initials on the inside between the rivets. It is constructed using a custom designed stainless steel band and a 50/1000 of an inch(1.25mm) thick BlueChip pick. These picks are laser etched, professionally machined, and hand beveled to create the best thumb pick available.
Size compares to a standard large thumb pick of any brand.

I have used a number of different thumb picks since learning to play the banjo. Other plastic style picks require alteration, either bending to shape or trimming, to keep the pick on your thumb, and to prevent the back of the pick catching a string. The Blue Chip JD Crowe model pick is a top shelf product, and when it arrived, it required no bending or shaping. It fits my thumb and my picking style. I highly recommend the JD Crowe thumb pick for sits quality, shape, and tone.

It's perfect.

All that has been said about this pick is true.
How it fits, how it sounds, the feel, everything.
I cannot add any more except to say that it seems to
glide over the strings. It has just enough friction
to sound the note, but is slick enough to not slow you
down. Ease of play is the reason I use it.
The flat picks also are a dream.

My favorite thumb pick. I'm used to having to file them down but not this one. It stays on, too! Thanks, guys.

This is the best pick I have ever used. It increased the sound volume output of my banjo by 1/3. The tone is a little brighter than I like but it is still very good. I recommend it to anyone.

I have always used any random disposable thumb pick until getting a blue chip. For tone and comfort bluechip is second to none.

I was concerned that the thumb pick would not fit right. I'm not a large person but I have used the large golden Gate picks so far. Well the JDCrowe thumb pick in large fit perfect.
I am very pleased with the tone from the pick. It is warm and smooth and plays very easy.

I am a beginning banjo picker. I've been picking for about a year. Recently, I asked my instructor what he recommended and he showed me his BlueChip Thumb Pick. I ordered one right away. This is by far the best thumb pick I have used to pick the banjo. It is so comfortable and fits so well. It doesn't move around on my thumb. I love it and highly recommend it.
