Product Description
This is our JD Crowe thumb pick in a size large. This pick was designed by JD Crowe and constructed to his very exacting specifications. The BCT-JDL is the exact pick that JD uses. The pick bears JD's initials on the inside between the rivets. It is constructed using a custom designed stainless steel band and a 50/1000 of an inch(1.25mm) thick BlueChip pick. These picks are laser etched, professionally machined, and hand beveled to create the best thumb pick available.
Size compares to a standard large thumb pick of any brand.

Pick is very comfortable, does not show any wear at all yet. Quality product. Big difference from a standard thumb pick. I own a bluechip flat pick as well, have had it for a year not showing any wear yet.

Tremendous picks. I have several different models…each one distinct sounding from the other, Comfortable, extremely stable and wonderful sounding. You know all those picks you find in the dryer and on the floor…well, you won’t ever misplace THIS one…you’ll take real good care of it!

Comfy, Clean & Crisp

Comfy - The Bluechip JDL fits my thumb perfectly. It feels as thought they used my right thumb to design the prototype. Perfect fit! I wondered if I would feel the rivets, and I do not feel them at all. So comfy!
Clean & Crisp - my attacks are soooooo much cleaner and crisper than before my Bluechip thumb pick. I’ll never go back to the big, fat blades of the solid plastic picks. There is almost no scrape against the wound fourth string no matter what angle I strike it.

Initially got the large thumb pick, but the pick part was a little too long and I was striking the banjo head to often. I got the JDL version instead and it is a little shorter. That seemed to do the trick and this is a wonderful pick! It matches the tone and volume of my Hoffmeyer fingerpicks and completes the set nicely!

Bought this to compare with my ProPik Super-Tone Thumbpick. The JD BC wins hands down! More comfortable and a better fit. I can feel the back of the blade more allowing me to make a more precise down stroke. Perfect length and blade shape. Better tone! The pick just glides off of the strings and feels more natural. Better speed and control. Easier to play. Makes me sound better. I’m sold!

I bought another BlueChip thumb pick, so I’ll have one in each banjo case. They way, I won’t forget my BlueChip, I when decide to play a gig with a different banjo.

Excellent pick, very comfortable and it enhances the sound of the strings. Price is on the higher end, but worth it.

My favorite part about this pick is the shape. I struggle with right hand tension, which is very limiting at high speeds. This pick finally put the balance of my hand in the right position and has opened up a whole new world of better playing for me. Thanks always to the folks at BC!
