Product Description

This is our thumb pick in a size large. It is constructed using a custom designed stainless steel band and a 50/1000 of an inch(1.25mm) thick BlueChip pick. These picks are laser etched, professionally machined, and hand beveled to create the best thumb pick available.

Size compares to a standard large thumb pick of any brand.

    Great pick … at first I bought the wrong size and returned it … very easy. 30 day return policy… everything you’ve read about blue chip is absolutely true… go for it and you won’t be disappointed

    The the thumb pick is great. Outstanding quality. However the pick blade is a bit longer than what I need. I opted for an exchange for a BCT-JDL which is what I should’ve ordered in the place. Which has a shorter blade and should work well.

    I ordered two custom thumbpicks, both JD L models, one with a Jazz pick as the blade, and the other with a TD60 as the blade. I have been using Black Mountain Thumbpicks for the last couple of years, and really liked them, but wished that I could have a Blue Chip ‘version’, having also been using a TD60 flatpick for years. The BlueChip Thumbpicks are great, and the custom option is great. The order was completed and despatched quickly, and took around two weeks to arrive in the UK. All in all, great picks and great service.

    Best thumb pick made hands down. Silent string noise and perfect fit on the thumb. Volume and clarity. All others pale in comparison

    I now have 3 large BC picks
    One for each of my 3 favorite banjos

    The specs seem identical by which I mean I detect zero difference pick to pick and no change or adjustment to timing required when I move from one to the other

    No dreaded slippage either!!

    A well-engineered comfortable pick. It's obvious a lot of care is taken right down to the beveling which creates a buttery smooth feel. The 1L band runs large and that's a good thing based on their easy shapabiilty as well as reversion. The tone is dark, conversely, the BCT-1M is more open and brighter. Mainly, I attribute this to the difference in blade mass. The 1L's blade length shines well in single string style banjo. Whereas the 1M facilitates Scruggs style playing. I ordered and kept both models.

    Customer service went out of their way to accommodate my needs. Thank you!

    After hearing the difference in sound between my various plastic thumb picks and my new Blue Chip (BCT-1L). I cannot see why anyone would continue using plastic thumb picks. No more pick noise. No more pinching.
