This is the TAD-3R pick in 50/1000th of an inch(1.25mm) thickness. It is identical to the TAD, but HAS THREE ROUNDED CORNERS. All of our picks are professionally machined, hand beveled, and laser etched.
Quarters, Nickels and Dimes, if included in the pictures, are for size reference only. They are not etched on the picks or included with the sale. To use this reference, please place a coin on your current non-Bluechip pick and then compare to the pictures of our picks with coins on top of them. This will help you choose the pick that is closest to your current favorite size and shape.

I have been a musician for over fifty years, I have played many instruments and recently bought my dream acoustic guitar and pulled out all of my many picks. I used to play electric guitars so I never paid that much attention to them. When I tried the picks I had I noticed what a difference they made so I researched what was the best pick. Every result was the BluChip. I saw how they started and had to give them a try. $35 is a lot for a pick but the best of anything isn’t going to be cheap. It is better than any pick I have and the more I play it the more I like it!

I'm no musician but I do love to noodle on my guitars and this is the first pick I've ever owned that didn't twirl around in my fingers. I just love it.

I like this pick for use when playing my Alembic guitar, which has active electronics. It softens the initial transient.

I recommend Blue Chips to anyone. They have really great tone and are really easy to play with. Also, the company has awesome customer service. If you need help with anything, they go beyond what they are required to do to assist you with your need! You can't go wrong with supporting such a great company!

I use the TAD 50 3R on my Martin D28 and get fantastic balanced tone. Not thin but very full! Also use a JD thumbpick on a Mastertone…also great tone. Had the thumbpick for several years so no more plastic thumbpicks wearing out! May get a backup of each in case I lose them…don’t think I’ll ever wear them out!

I am not the kind of person who collects instruments, etc. However, when I tried a Blue Chip 50 pick, I was impressed at how much it improved my mandolin playing, particularly my tremolo. The pick is easy to hold and to shift between strings. It makes almost no pick noise on the strings. It almost became part of my fingers while playing. It is not often you get a skill upgrade by purchasing a product, but this produced a definite improvement to my playing.

I don’t write reviews, but there’s something about this pick, the feel, the tone, the size, etc. It’s simply amazing.

Velvety smooth on the strings with minimum pick noise. Brings out a warm, round sound on my Taran mandolin. The PERFECT pick for playing my Trad. Scottish music.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for trad. players of any genre
