This is the TAD-3R pick in 40/1000th of an inch(1.0mm) thickness. It is identical to the TAD, but HAS THREE ROUNDED CORNERS. All of our picks are professionally machined, hand beveled, and laser etched.
Quarters, Nickels and Dimes, if included in the pictures, are for size reference only. They are not etched on the picks or included with the sale. To use this reference, please place a coin on your current non-Bluechip pick and then compare to the pictures of our picks with coins on top of them. This will help you choose the pick that is closest to your current favorite size and shape.

I'm now a believer. Silky string interaction but secure in the hand. The tone is REALLY sweet. Highly recommended.

Most comfortable pick I've ever used (in 55 years of playing). Not to mention the long life. Both the TAD40-3R and TAD50-3R.

Exceptional pick. I like this one for certain occasions and the 48 when necessary as well. Highly recommend.

Purchased after a friend let me use his. was able to buy at a festival just as the crew was packing up to leave. I am very careful to keep up with my pick as I would feel "off" without it. I like the sound it makes. I play mandolin and recommend this pick. my recent purchase was a gift for my son. He likes his pick as well

Great pick and they accommodated my request for a 35 width for no extra charge.

I seen lots of reviews on Blue Chip picks. I was using Dunlop Prime Tone sculpted picks 1.3mm before I got a Blue Chip pick. I like the feeling of the pick between your fingers. It glides effortlessly off the strings but still not slippery in your fingers. The interaction with the pick and strings are not noisy or plastic like. It’s just smooth and makes for a great tone. I WILL buy again. I really don’t see using anything else…. It’s enhanced my ability right away. I feel like my playing will improve by using this pick… especially with smoothness and speed.

I bought a Blue Chip to prove they weren't what everyone says they are. It was worth the $40 to be able to shut down internet forums everywhere I searched.... then I played the damn thing. Out of nowhere I have no picks that I like to play besides my Blue Chip.
You could seriously search for "Blue Chip Pick Review Praise" and just apply whatever you read to how I feel about my Blue Chip pick

The Blue Chip Pick is the Fastest off the string I have ever used. They soften the sound just a little compared Tortoise Picks but much faster off the string.
They last seaming long, long time compared to all other picks.
I highly recommend Blue Chip Picks for most all styles of Flat Picking.

I play flatpick guitar, and I've tried most of the picks on the market. I've played my trusty 3R 40 picks and moved to something else several times - always to return to my good old 3R 40's. BlueChips are like no other flatpicks. They are without a doubt the best picks in the world of flatpick guitar. I have a drawer full of excellent picks I will never use again. The TAD-3R 40 is definitely "MY PICK." Even the tortoise must take second place in this race.

I asked about how to get a pick in a specific thickness by email and got a prompt reply - easy as adding a note to the order. New pick arrived 2 days after placing the order - just as I wanted and now it is all I use. I'll probably have to get a spare. :-)
