  1. The Pick I'll be using everyday 5 Star Review

Posted by on 12th Jun 2023

This pick TAD 80 feels perfect for everyday use with the mandolin. I have a TAD 100 and a CT 55 that I still use. I know how long this pick will last as I have had my CT 55 for 10 years.

  2. Top Knotch… Perfect. 5 Star Review

After 25 yrs. I’ve never seen a pick so versatile in approach and attack. Almost like pedals on a piano.. gives you so much subtle control over the minutae of Sound you wish to create. Very tactile in control and contact, you can feel ‘sweet spots’ easily with great response. I know, thats a lot of word salad, but truly .. the TAD80 and my TAD50 (as well) are excellent performers for al my needs. Well Done !

  3. A real tone tool. 5 Star Review

Posted by on 20th Oct 2022

After watching quite a few youtube videos about the BlueChip picks, I decided it was worth the try. I went for a big one because I always play with the rounded ends of my picks.
I am very please with my choice. The tone I get is incredible, compared to whatever I used before.
The more I play with it, the more I love it. It is so easy to hold and it feels great. (even precious!...) ;-)
It is equaly good on both my acoustic and electric guitars.

  4. Perfect for a warm sound 5 Star Review

I prefer the TAD80 on my Engelmann-spruce mandolin for old time jams. Very comfortable and just beefy enough without feeling too chunky! Love this pick! Also awesome for mandocello playing.

  5. Favorite Pick by Far 5 Star Review

I will forever be a fan of these picks. After buying multiple of these and other sizes to find my fit, I've settled on the TAD-80 and with the Delrin material, they never slip and justify their cost every day in how durable and long lasting they are.

  6. Best pick I ever used. 5 Star Review

Posted by on 21st Jun 2022

I play lead and rhythm bluegrass. This size (2mm) and overall shape is perfect for me. The overall dimensions are just right. The pick is easy to hold on to and doesn't spin around when I'm really laying down the licks. I think it's witchcraft with whatever the material they use in it. No string noise whatsoever! And the pick seems to stick in your fingers just perfectly. Never have to worry about it flying across the room! I really can't say enough about how it has helped me in my playing style. Thanks Blue Chip!

  7. Best pics in the world 5 Star Review

Long time happy customer with a handful of BC picks in different shapes and sizes for different purposes. They never slip in the fingers, they're impervious to wear, they don't click against the strings - simply magical material. Recently purchased custom TPR 80s in both round bevel and right hand speed bevel - wow do they draw killer tone from my guitars. Couldn't be happier!

  8. Best darn pick in my 60 years of playing. 5 Star Review

Posted by on 12th Oct 2021

It is comfortable to hold, the most scratch free sound when picking, produces about the same volume as picking with fingers on acoustic and electric guitars, and the best lubrication for holding the pick. The best there is.

  9. I was doubtful 5 Star Review

Posted by on 5th Apr 2021

I ordered 2 BC Picks around Jan 2020. I thought this is ridiculous, but I will give them a try. During the pandemic I played about 30 outdoor gigs and also practiced like the devil right thru the winter. Hundreds of hours with these picks. I am now convinced that they are worth the money. The sound they produce is great, but if you play thru a PA a bunch, that is a fine line. What makes them worth it to me is that they don't wear down like other picks. No more filing, or sanding prior to a gig to get the edge right... The grip is better for me too. Consequently, about a month ago, I ordered 2 more - TAD 60 & 80 -- I have heard all of the jokes about expensive gear and accessories --- I spend a good chunk of every day playing the guitar and these picks make that time more enjoyable. mark t small www.marktsmall.com

  10. Thumbpick Version 5 Star Review

Posted by on 5th Oct 2020

I am a dobro player and having used the Blue Chip reso thumbpick for years, I was looking for something with a little more punch and substance. On the recommendation of another player, I contacted the folks at Blue Chip about getting one of these TAD80 flatpicks custom made into a thumbpick. This pick is thicker than the reso version thumbpicks and feels and sounds great. It gave me just what I was looking for. I opted for the Russ Carson mode thumbpick because the shape and size reminded of the old Golden Gate thumbpicks I used for years before stumbling onto Blue Chip years ago. Blue Chip is a fantastic company with amazing customer service making incredible products for musicians of all types.
