This is the TAD pick in 50/1000 of an inch(1.25mm) thickness. It is shaped identically to the TP, but is slightly larger. All BlueChip Picks are professionally machined, laser engraved, and hand beveled.
Quarters, Nickels and Dimes, if included in the pictures, are for size reference only. They are not etched on the picks or included with the sale. To use this reference, please place a coin on your current non-Bluechip pick and then compare to the pictures of our picks with coins on top of them. This will help you choose the pick that is closest to your current favorite size and shape.

Have started playing again after a long hiatus and have been struggling with numerous picks.
Saw the TAD60 being used by an on-line instructor and thought I'd give it a try.
Has made all the difference in the world in my progress getting back to playing.

A friend introduced me to the TAD 50. The shape and size is comfortable. The bevel has improved my play significantly. I like the mellow tone. Well worth the price.

I’ve typically used thinker picks (TAD60) but I wanted to try something thinner after hearing Bryan Sutton uses a TP48 or something. Turns out I really love this TAD50! Cool to have different thicknesses for different moods, string age, tones, etc. All BlueChip picks are great!

I had thought a 50 thickness would be too much and wouldn't give the flex needed for pick nuances, but this triangle TAD gave just the right clarity and muscle to impress me! I love it. My playing is better and the tone is similar if not better than my "real" picks.

After my son’s dog ate his first Tad50 pick, I decided to order one for him and another for me. He raved about it, so I had to try. It really brings out the tone of my Larrivee A33 mandolin. I love it! Yes, it’s pricey, but I’m worth it.

I have used a lot of picks and was skeptical about this one because it is a bit spendy and I got the TAD by accident instead of the TD. It seemed a bit slick to grip at first but I put a small piece of masking tape on each side. It didn't take long to get used to the tri-tip shape and the little piece of tape worked perfectly. Now it is the only pick I use and if I lose it, I am getting another right away. I love the rich sound with no hint of pick click. Also I have now played with it for several days and lots of hours and I can't detect any wear on it at all. Long as I don't lose it, it will probably be the only pick I ever need.

I have had the TAD 50 for a few weeks now. I do like the larger size of the pick, the beveled edges and the smooth action on the strings.
However, It is very loud and has a distinct metallic sound which I am just not used to yet. I will try it for a while longer and see if my feelings about the sound changes?

Been a guitar picker for over 50 years, and have played mandolin for over 15. Read numerous reviews before spending the money to satisfy my curiosity about Blue Chip Picks, wanting to see what exactly justified the cost.
Having numerous picks, for different tonal and effect quality, I’ve always just switched off depending on the music. But, since the very first, I’ve found that this pick covers ‘all the bases’, and it is my go to and pretty much ‘stay with’ pick. I can ‘soft tone’, chirp, hammer, or get whatever tone I want by positioning the pick, and I use it almost exclusively no matter what music genre I’m playing.
I’m sold!!! I will never be without a Blue Chip again. Worth every dollar, and more for the serious player. Thanks Blue Chip; you did it right!!
