Product Description

This is the TAD pick in 50/1000 of an inch(1.25mm) thickness. It is shaped identically to the TP, but is slightly larger. All BlueChip Picks are professionally machined, laser engraved, and hand beveled.

Quarters, Nickels and Dimes, if included in the pictures, are for size reference only. They are not etched on the picks or included with the sale. To use this reference, please place a coin on your current non-Bluechip pick and then compare to the pictures of our picks with coins on top of them. This will help you choose the pick that is closest to your current favorite size and shape.

  1. The KING of flat picks! 5 Star Review

The TAD40 and 50 are all my heart desires!
    Tone, feel, lifespan!
    Done!

  2. MY TAD 50 5 Star Review

Posted by on 14th Mar 2022

I had previously purchased a TAD40 and a TD35. I liked the TAD40 better and bought the TAD50 for the increased thickness. I thought that might help me to do better in hanging on to my pick while playing. I believe it has and has also improved my technique. Very happy with my choice.

I would try a slightly larger pick if blue chip offered one.

  3. Great pick. 4 Star Review

Sure enough! Just as everyone claims, there really is a noticeable improvement in sound. Plays great too. A little pricey but while I say that, I don’t regret the purchase and I would buy another one.

  4. AWESOME 5 Star Review

Best pick made, I've been these picks for years. They do indeed make a difference in sound. They are not dog proof though, my little pup ate my last one!

  5. Picking perfection 5 Star Review

I find the Blue Chip TAD 50 as the perfect blend of strength and size for my hand when playing my Gilchrist and Gibson Master Model F-5 mandolins. The bevel is the right angle for a crisp tone without scoring the pick. I can't believe how long the pick lasts.

  6. Best pick Ive had!! 5 Star Review

Love the way it glides off of the strings and the tone this thing can pull is unparalleled by any other product!

  7. At least one year per pointed side! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 29th Dec 2021

I play a lot and dig in a lot and I am just now getting my 2nd TAD50 after three years. And truth be told, I'm not quite ready to start playing with the new one, but I am glad I have a new one all lined up and ready to go when that time comes. When I completely wear out my first TAD50 for bluegrass guitar purposes, I will kindly use it as my jazz pick, and that will likely be my jazz pick for the rest of my life. Like others have said, this is the best pick I have ever used. I am a little more aggressive in my playing style...I have other folks in my life that have never worn out a Blue Chip Pick, some not even a single pointed side! And with the TAD series, you get 3 pointed sides!

  8. Amazing pick! 5 Star Review

I recently received my Blue Chip TAD 50 pick, and I haven’t used another pick since! It is so smooth and fast through the strings. I don’t always love playing with a pick, as they never feel secure, but this one is easy to hold on to. I can’t recommend highly enough, honestly!

  9. great! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 20th Oct 2021

I love my Blue Chip. Great tone. Use it on an acoustic archtop at the recommendation of Joey McKenzie and it makes a difference. It only took a few days to receive, so service was great. I’ll be using it on every song of our new album we are recording next month!

  10. send favorite pick 4 Star Review

Posted by on 13th Oct 2021

Second favorite pick (after TAD 40) to use with my Weber Bitteroot mandolin. It nearly has the flexibility and speed of the TAD 40 but smoother tone. Also easier for tremolo while keeping good volume.
