This is the TAD pick in 50/1000 of an inch(1.25mm) thickness. It is shaped identically to the TP, but is slightly larger. All BlueChip Picks are professionally machined, laser engraved, and hand beveled.
Quarters, Nickels and Dimes, if included in the pictures, are for size reference only. They are not etched on the picks or included with the sale. To use this reference, please place a coin on your current non-Bluechip pick and then compare to the pictures of our picks with coins on top of them. This will help you choose the pick that is closest to your current favorite size and shape.

This is my go to pick when I need one pick to do a bit of everything. I have lots of high end picks that are great at one type of playing but not as versatile as this one. I like the brightness of this pick over the thicker ones. It still has a warm thick sound but not too warm or thick. I noticed a small hint of an almost raspy sound that I really enjoy. Not a harsh sound, its hard to describe. It really adds something to the tone. I use it for a full bodied acoustic guitar with 80/20 bronze strings.

Received my TAD50 a few weeks ago and it's the best pick i ever used! Great feel and tone and well worth the money!

Just received my 4th TAD 50 (one for each bluegrass guitar). I was initially very dubious about the price modelling for these picks, but they are exceeding good compared to others on the market, and the larger triangle suits my arthritic right thumb, and a slightly thinner pick can be used in this format than in a teardrop. If you pay topp dollar for your guitr(s) then $35 for your most important point of contact with it is acceptable. Plus Messrs Goins are great communicators.

Love the material and the way it glides across strings and the tone is perfect

I've become a fan of Blue Chips over the past few years, and as my experimentation grows I'm dialing in what works best for me and various guitars I own. I did a review on the UMGF a while back illustrating the radical difference picks and strings could make, by recording the same guitar 3 times with 3 different picks on one set of strings, then repeat with different strings. It could have been 6 different guitars! I've only relatively recently become a TAD size fan, having played most of my career with the TD size pick in traditional materials and TS. I went from the TD, to the TP in Blue Chips at first, but then "also" got a CT-55 for my mandolin. Danged if I didn't get used to that larger size and start using it on guitars, too! But the subtle sound differences in gauges of picks is fun to experiment with so after using the CT-55 on both guitar & mando, I decided to try the TAD-50 for guitar, to have the option of bringing out a little more brightness/crispness in some situations. I'm really enjoying having added the TAD-50 to my growing collection of Blue Chip picks, the pick that stands right up against my TS picks in feel and sound.

Bluechip picks are the best picks ever made. The sound is great, the feel is great, they seem to last forever. They're just perfect.
I've got 3 TADs 40, 45 and 50. And the CT55. They all kick ass.

I have been playing professionally for over thirty years and never paid much attention to the pick. I play jazz and was concentrating on the notes...I guess. When it dawned on me that the little piece of plastic in my right hand was as important to my guitar's tone and technique as a bow is to an orchestral string player, I started a serious hunt. The missing piece had been found @ BlueChip. I own 7 different BC picks. The Tad 60 beveled gives me the best tone while the Tad 50 is the fastest. It is a great product.

What a sweet pick!! Who would think that there would be such a difference between my old Dunlop pick and the TAD 50. One smooth strum across the strings with a TAD 50’s speed beveled edges and I forgot all about the $35 dollars I paid for it. Tossed out that old Dunlop and now I guard my TAD50 with my life.
