This is the TAD pick in 40/1000 of an inch(1.0mm) thickness. It is shaped identically to the TP, but is slightly larger. All BlueChip Picks are professionally machined, laser engraved, and hand beveled.
Quarters, Nickels and Dimes, if included in the pictures, are for size reference only. They are not etched on the picks or included with the sale. To use this reference, please place a coin on your current non-Bluechip pick and then compare to the pictures of our picks with coins on top of them. This will help you choose the pick that is closest to your current favorite size and shape.

As a mandolin player for a cowboy band, I have purchased both the TD40, and TD5. They made such a difference in my playing, that I gifted one to our guitar playing leader as well as our worship leader at church, assuring them that if it made half the difference with them that it did with my playing, they’d never use anything else. Playing guitar for over 50 years, and mandolin for 20,I bought my first Blue Chip as an experiment, after reading numerous reviews. Quickly became a believer in these picks. Made me better. Thanks Blue Chip..!!

I'm a stiff pick guy. I started with a 60 - loved it. Got a 55, thinner but just as stiff - loved it more. Got the 40 - a stiff pick with just a touch of give to it. It gives a little snap that I don't get with the 55/60. It's a hell of a lot of fun. Still stiff enough for good control and the "snap" give me a little more volume when I dig in.
I love this pick.

I recently received a custom TAD 40 with a CT 55 speed bevel. I’ve owned and used dozens of picks and this is the fastest pick I have ever used. BC made this pick quickly and got it to me right away. Mathew was great to work with. I couldn’t be happier.

I put off purchasing Blue Chip picks for over two years.... wish I would have done it 20 years ago. Well worth it... an exceptional value for the quality!

I absolutely love the feel and speed of this pick! I can lightly grip it and it stays secure. Love the tone.

I love all blue chip products I have tried. They don’t disappoint. I was weary of spending that kind of money on a pick but I would never use anything else.

I have a problem with my fingers sweating and having trouble holding on to a pick. Over the past four years I had tried about every pick and specialty pick out there. Any time I saw something new and heard you have to try this , I did . I could buy probably at least 3 or 4 bluechip picks on what i shelled out. So last year I decided to pull the trigger and get one of these bluechip picks I been hearing about. The slipping has really lightened up if not completely disappeared. So after a year I bought another one to keep with my mandolin too. Now there is a lot more pickin and a lot less slipped.

Thought I would never pay this much for picks but they are worth it!
I have a variety now and TAD 40 is my current favorite for mandolin. In addition to the shape and action of these picks I think they are just easy to hold on to and don't slip around like other materials.
Also the folks at Blue Chip are great to work with.
