This is the TAD pick in 40/1000 of an inch(1.0mm) thickness. It is shaped identically to the TP, but is slightly larger. All BlueChip Picks are professionally machined, laser engraved, and hand beveled.
Quarters, Nickels and Dimes, if included in the pictures, are for size reference only. They are not etched on the picks or included with the sale. To use this reference, please place a coin on your current non-Bluechip pick and then compare to the pictures of our picks with coins on top of them. This will help you choose the pick that is closest to your current favorite size and shape.

I really know them to be worth the money. I would feel a lot better if I had gotten at least three pics the way it stands if I lose that one. I’m shot down.

A joy to use, I play traditional Celtic, Gypsy, Bluegrass and Old Time etc, in our band on Bouzoulki, Banjo, Mandolin and Guitar and this pick is just great for all of them, love it. Life will never be the same again. Thanks Blue Chip.

If you are serious about getting the best sound possible the you must own a Blue Chip Pick. They are also great gifts with custom monograms.

Just what the headline says. The shape suit my playing style and the with a tip shape that helps to extract a bit more brightness to cut through the mix. You don't hear the pick, but you'll hear the great tone of your guitar. These are expensive but you get what you pay for -- a pick that you will love. I bought one and then I bought two more (gotta have extras in case tragedy strikes and someone steals one)

I’ve played the TD and TAD 50 for a year prior and the TAD 40 seems to make flatpicking faster runs a little easier with the pick not wanting to overdig into the strings. It has a noticeably brighter tone to it vs the TAD50 but in a good way. I work to always have good pick hand technique with a looser relaxed grip and the TAD40 for me just plucks and moves on better it doesn’t try to stick around too long like our congress.

At first I wasn't sure about shelling out $35 for a pick! Then after I got used to this pick, I bought two more :) Just in case. These work great for me for bluegrass guitar picking, adding some brightness to the boominess and helping the guitar stand out more in the mix. They feel great on the strings and deliver a really nice tone. They're worth the price.

There is simply no way to overstate how incredible these picks are. Like many of my friends, I was exceptionally skeptical that any rational person would pay $35 for a single flat pick. One day, out of sheer curiosity, I ordered one. It changed everything about my approach to playing music. I played Bluegrass professionally for almost 15 years, and I will tell you in no uncertain terms that I would gladly pay three times the going rate for a Blue Chip pick.

I was afraid it might be too cumbersome and large and it's anything but that. You barely notice it when playing and in my opinion those are the ingredients of a great pick. Love my TAD40

Love love this pick…. Except when they grow legs and sneak off somewhere…?

The TAD40 is far and away the best, most responsive pick I've ever used. Well worth the investment.
