This is the TAD pick in 40/1000 of an inch(1.0mm) thickness. It is shaped identically to the TP, but is slightly larger. All BlueChip Picks are professionally machined, laser engraved, and hand beveled.
Quarters, Nickels and Dimes, if included in the pictures, are for size reference only. They are not etched on the picks or included with the sale. To use this reference, please place a coin on your current non-Bluechip pick and then compare to the pictures of our picks with coins on top of them. This will help you choose the pick that is closest to your current favorite size and shape.

Excellent but I'm afraid I'll lose it.

Was excited to purchase and try a Blue Chip Pick, as I am always looking for ways to shape tone on acoustic guitar and read some wonderful reviews online. I like the larger shape of the TAD 40 and having played with it now maybe seven hours in total over a few days, don’t see any visible signs of wear. The material is very rigid / solid, so the pick is excellent for arpeggios, allowing you to play as fast as you like with virtually no clicking. The tone produced is clean and favors midrange with overtone. I think I prefer a pick with more flexibility for strumming chords and feel that the sound produced with the TAD 40 strumming seems to lose the upper shimmer present when playing vintage guitar with a softer, more flexible pick. That’s my reason for not giving five stars, as I bought what seemed to be the thinnest Blue Chip Pick available in this style, but I am still glad to have what seems to be an excellent pick and look forward to continuing to experiment with it, also to eventually see how it works with other vintage acoustics and a vintage electric.

I’m very happy with my Blue Chip picks. I’ve been using the TAD 40 for years. Every one of them is the same. Smooth and fast.

I ordered this on a whim, and when it arrived I thought I must have lost my mind to pay that much for a pick. I tried it out, half hoping that it would not be great so I could dismiss it.
I was wrong! the density of the material is perfect and the way the pick slides off the strings is magical. I am going to order a thumb pick as the one I just bought feels like a bread bag clip comparatively. I am putting this in my guitar case in its own case and nobody touches it!

I was very reluctant to spend this much on a guitar pick but after the reviews I went ahead and took the plunge. I’ve been having trouble holding onto my normal picks and I’ve used many different ones. Ones with grip and bumps etc I’m getting carpal tunnel in my right hand, which has made it hard for me to hold onto my pics, especially when playing my acoustic guitar. I don’t know what it is, but with this pic, I have no problem holding onto it and it’s perfect. Great product guys I’ve bought four of them since only because I lost one. And I really appreciate the pic holder that you sent with it. Thanks so much.

I am still getting used to these picks. The first thing I noticed is the dramatic improvement in the sound of my guitars. I have used thin picks for years and years and now I have found the one that I will be using from now onl

I couldn’t find the 3R on the site so I order the Regular style. Someone told me after the fact that I could have emailed them and they would have accommodated me. I’ll remember that when I re order. I still enjoy these picks more than any previous choices that I’ve used from other brands.

Bluechip picks are he best! I think I’ve purchased at least six of them. I’ve given each of my three grandsons a Bluechip. “Aren’t I worried about losing them, or my grandsons losing them? (You might ask). Not at all. I trained them right from the start to slip the pick under the strings up near the first fret when they’re done playing, as I have for years. Once you’ve started playing with a Bluechip, you’ll make sure you won’t lose it. Pick the best!
