  1. Fast pick with great sound 4 Star Review

Posted by on 24th Jan 2023

The TAD 40 is a great pick especially for fast pickers and cross picking. I wish there had been an option on the website of having grip holes drilled on the pick for better control. Thus 4 stars, not for the pick, but for the lack of options on the website.

  2. What A Difference A Pick Makes 5 Star Review

Posted by on 9th Dec 2022

I have tried several Blue Chip Picks. Each one is great. The TAD40 is the one that best suits my hand. Before the Blue Chip Picks I knew a pick shape, size and texture made a difference in my tone and the nimbleness of my picking hand, but the BCP is in a class by itself. These picks are comfortable, durable and they help me achieve a tone I really enjoy. TAD40 is my number #1 pick choice.

I’ve used them all. BC are best tone, even on my wide variety of guitars.

  4. Brayden Williamson 5 Star Review

These picks changed the game for me. Growing up in Bluegrass and Country music involves a lot of hard drive guitar picking. I’ve used the TAD 40 since I was 17 years old. I am now 20 and the way I feel about this pick has never changed… Performing at high end venues such as the West Virginia State Fair, the Bean Blossom Bluegrass Festival in Indiana and various Historical theaters around the Appalachian region, I’ve come to the realization that you need to use the best in order to strive to be the best… That is why I use Bluechip Picks.

  5. They make a difference 5 Star Review

Posted by on 11th Nov 2022

This is my fourth Blue Chip pick, two for me, and two as gifts. When using it on the mandolin the pick seems to glide over the strings, and makes standard plastic picks feel like they are dragging. It also produces better, fuller sound. Its not the same as just using a really thick pick, this size is thick enough to pull sound out of an acoustic instrument, but is still manageable. When used on a acoustic guitar it does the same. Pulls more sound out of the instrument. It feels better when playing, and i am uncomfortable playing without them. One of the few items on the list of replace immediately if lost. With that in mind, don’t drop it on the ground in the fall when there are brownish leaves everywhere. Took me 45 minutes to find it, but i spent the time because its worth it. If your playing a multi thousand dollar guitar/mandolin, why sell it short with a regular pick. You dont out regular unleaded in your ‘64 corvette.

  7. Good enough for friends 5 Star Review

Posted by on 10th Oct 2022

As a mandolin player for a cowboy band, I have purchased both the TD40, and TD5. They made such a difference in my playing, that I gifted one to our guitar playing leader as well as our worship leader at church, assuring them that if it made half the difference with them that it did with my playing, they’d never use anything else. Playing guitar for over 50 years, and mandolin for 20,I bought my first Blue Chip as an experiment, after reading numerous reviews. Quickly became a believer in these picks. Made me better. Thanks Blue Chip..!!

  10. Just a touch of "snap." 5 Star Review

Posted by on 12th Aug 2022

I'm a stiff pick guy. I started with a 60 - loved it. Got a 55, thinner but just as stiff - loved it more. Got the 40 - a stiff pick with just a touch of give to it. It gives a little snap that I don't get with the 55/60. It's a hell of a lot of fun. Still stiff enough for good control and the "snap" give me a little more volume when I dig in.

    I love this pick.
