This is the TAD pick in 40/1000 of an inch(1.0mm) thickness. It is shaped identically to the TP, but is slightly larger. All BlueChip Picks are professionally machined, laser engraved, and hand beveled.
Quarters, Nickels and Dimes, if included in the pictures, are for size reference only. They are not etched on the picks or included with the sale. To use this reference, please place a coin on your current non-Bluechip pick and then compare to the pictures of our picks with coins on top of them. This will help you choose the pick that is closest to your current favorite size and shape.

I love this pick. It is fast, easy to hold on to, sounds great and does not wear out!

Since I first started using Blue Chip picks, I have been impressed with the courtesy and flexibility of the company.
I ordered my second pick in a non-standard thickness configuration and they didn't bat an eye. For some of my guitars & songs, the lighter thickness of a 45 seemed worth trying and it was a breeze to get my TAD 45!

Handles great and balanced well. The beveled edges are a terrific addition.

I just bought a TAD40. I also have a CT55, TP50, and a JD thumb pick. I rotate through all of these regularly depending on my mood, the instrument and picking style. Yes, I'm spoiled!

I get to my 60s and finally find the pick of my dreams! I have jars full of picks in my study - they can all go to charity now! The TAD40 does it all for me! Good luck, fellow guitarists, in your quest, and may you reach flatpick Nirvana somewhat quicker than I did!

I assure you these picks are wonderful & I particularly like the TAD-40. But let me warn you that when you lose even one, it hurts and burns for a long time. I hunted everywhere for my three BC picks before I sprung-out more cash to buy this one. It will not leave my sight. If I am on a stage and the pick goes flying; well, so will I.

Over several years I have used Blue Chip picks.I own sevral Martin guitars from a '67 D35 that I'v had since new to a 2011 hd28 custom. I play in a bluegrass band and the
Blue Chips picks bring out that great Martin sound and last a long time. I use TAD 40's and 55's depending on the tune we're playing. It's
good to find such a great reliable pick after 50 years of playing. Wish you had been around years ago.I really likethe engraving I got on my latest pick from you too.

MY preferred picks for many years were Martin Naturaltone in nylon and/or delrin 1.2 m.m. Heard about Blue Chip via Collings forum, and ordered some. BCs are as good but avaiable in the TAD shape which is more comfortable for my arthritic right thumb.
This one was to replace one sent without speed bevel which really improves picking speed.
I use 40s for solo and small combo work 50s for bluegrass band.

I have been using the CT-55 for my mandolins, but it was a bit thick for my guitar picking. Thought I would take the risk and try a thinner pick in the same design. I should have known there is no risk with these picks. For me, this pick is the perfect weight for all of my guitar work.
