This is the TAD pick in 40/1000 of an inch(1.0mm) thickness. It is shaped identically to the TP, but is slightly larger. All BlueChip Picks are professionally machined, laser engraved, and hand beveled.
Quarters, Nickels and Dimes, if included in the pictures, are for size reference only. They are not etched on the picks or included with the sale. To use this reference, please place a coin on your current non-Bluechip pick and then compare to the pictures of our picks with coins on top of them. This will help you choose the pick that is closest to your current favorite size and shape.

This is simply the best pick that can be had. The TAD40 is my favorite thickness. What makes these picks special, is that they slide right off the strings with a minimum of friction, so the only sound that comes from striking the string is pure tone. I've owned several tortoise picks. The Bluechip out performs them. We all know how emotional and particular the professionals are about their picks. Go read their testimonials regarding these picks. Enough said.

Very pleased with this pick. It approximates my tortoise shell pick so I'm a happy picker.

Hi, received these picks and compared them to a Fender medium.
I'll be selling the BlueChips.

I thought I might be going crazy when I bought a TAD40.
My wife for sure did.
But I will have to say it is pretty awesome. It has made quite a difference in my playing. Compares to gas station sunglasses and a pair of Maui Jems.

Actually been using BC picks for years, while trying dozen other custom picks etc. always come back to the BC. Been using nothing but 1.5 for many years, at the advice of Scott Fore who I talked to at a Bourgeois demo show I decided to try a lighter pick. The TD40 and it is the first change in a long long time that actually made a significant improvement in my playing.
Scott mentioned to me how much change a pick can make, he gave me one of his a 1.4 drilled out for grip, but I found it to small. On a whim one day I ordered the 1.0 TAD40 and I am sold, now it is the ONLY pick I used period. I plan on ordering a few more in the near future in case I lose it. I know I will never wear it out.
Great Product!!!!!!

I was hesitant to spend $35 on a pick at first, but I am loving the Blue Chip and I think it is a great pick to play with. It stays in my hand comfortably and produces a loud plucky tone with minimal effort. I have used the pick for mandolin, octave mandolin, and acoustic guitar alongside other picks and it produces a noticeably different tone that I find to be clear and bright. This is not to say it is better than other high quality picks, but I would say it is an excellent pick with a distinguishable sound.

TAD40 is a versatile and comfortable pick for both Guitar and Mandolin .
The Area of the Pick makes it a great grabber and works well even fir those with bad plectrum posture.
The clickless self lubricating composite material delivers a series of tones above any other pick I have ever used with exception to other models of Bluechip Picks . The more you squeeze the pick the more energy it produces across the string , it's like having a precision gas pedal on a Formula1 Race Car crystal clear staccatos are replaced with subtle tones when you give less squeeze or less Gas , over all a very fine plectrum ,however all Bluechip picks are very fine Plectrums

I’ve tried a ton of picks but these are the ones. Love them!

I started using Blue Chip picks about 3 years ago. I love the tone I get and, it seems, I think it helps me flat pick just a little faster.

I have been playing acoustic guitar for 30 years now and I have tried just about every pick out there. I can honestly say that after a month using this pick every day, it is the best I have ever used. I was skeptical and even though BC picks have been around a while, I just never tried one. I wish I had bought one sooner.
The BC does not get in the "way" of playing, and for whatever reason, it really helps coax even more tone out of your instrument. On my main guitar, Red Spruce top, East Indian Rosewood back and side, 1937 dread Martin copy, it made it just a little louder than it already was. It also helped it "cut" a little better in a jam setting on stage.
I know I will never be with out several in my instrument cases.
