This is the TAD pick in 40/1000 of an inch(1.0mm) thickness. It is shaped identically to the TP, but is slightly larger. All BlueChip Picks are professionally machined, laser engraved, and hand beveled.
Quarters, Nickels and Dimes, if included in the pictures, are for size reference only. They are not etched on the picks or included with the sale. To use this reference, please place a coin on your current non-Bluechip pick and then compare to the pictures of our picks with coins on top of them. This will help you choose the pick that is closest to your current favorite size and shape.

I use the TAD40 on my Electric and Acoustic guitars. It’s easy to hang on to and my tone is awesome!!!

I've found the right pick for one of my mandolins and it's the BlueChip TAD45. The TAD40 was just a bit too bright sounding and I would loose just a bit of volume with a TAD 50, the 45 gives me just the sound I was looking for. Thanks for making providing this thickness option. I continue to find BC picks the best picks available.

These picks are amazing!!!! I received my first one in 2010 as a gift.
I now have one for each of my guitars and mandolin. Always put them in the strings and guard them when someone else is borrowing it. You'll never lose it. I've been using my mandolin pick for about 8 years. I have a pretty heavy right hand and I can't see any wear on the pick. Absolutely amazing. And the tone is wonderful. Everything about these picks is perfect!

Bluegrass player here.
When I received the TAD40 pick' I realized it's a bit thinner than I'm used to (try the TAD55 if you like a thicker pick). The sound is slightly different (thinner and more percussive) than with a thicker pick (I normally use a 1.5mm).
That said, I can actually play faster than with the thicker picks, so, yay! The slight difference in sound is totally worth the faster playing (plus louder, which is great when you're playing with bunch of banjos).
The other aspect of the TAD40 that I like is it's size. It fits right into the nook in my index finger for a really strong and relaxed grip.

These picks are simply the best. I want stickers and T-shirt’s to wear at my gigs! Over 200 per year. So happy! Is there a way to purchase these items?

I purchased a 40 & 45 which is close to the thickness I am used to. The picks are slick enough to effectively decrease recording "string scratch" that can be heard with other types of picks and the rigidity is akin to real tortoise and the sound is very close. I'm happy with this purchase even though I have been using their thumbpicks for a while anyway....

I ordered the TAD-40 and cannot say enough about the way it plays. It does not feel like a guitar pick; rather like an extension of your finger. There is no slapping sound and it feels silky smooth. The sound is extremely clear and significantly increases the projection. I will never play with another pick. Also, great customer service and I received my personalized pick the day after I purchased it. Great job BlueChip Picks!

What a difference the TAD 40 makes in picking ability and sound quality. Compared to the pick I previously used, this one brings out a better sound in both mandolin and tenor (17 fret) banjo. Only wish I could use it on my fiddle....I thank my fiddle teacher for telling my about the TAD 40 she uses on her mando (not fiddle).
