Product Description

The TP-1R is our classic triangular pick in a 50/1000 of an inch thickness(1.25mm) with ONE ROUNDED CORNER.  All of our picks are professionally machined, hand beveled, and laser etched.

Quarters, Nickels and Dimes, if included in the pictures, are for size reference only. They are not etched on the picks or included with the sale. To use this reference, please place a coin on your current non-Bluechip pick and then compare to the pictures of our picks with coins on top of them. This will help you choose the pick that is closest to your current favorite size and shape.

  1. TP-1R 50 5 Star Review

Posted by on 19th Nov 2018

I purchased this pick for playing bluegrass and swing guitar.
I chose this pick for the 2-beveled points and the rounded shoulder and the thickness.
I use all of them depending on the needs of the tune being played.
Really nice pick, good thickness, nicely balanced, never slips in my fingers and it produces strong, woody tones from my Martin Hd-28.
I have owned 2 CT-55's (10+years) for my mandolins and love them. They show almost no ware at all.

Although I love a heavy pick for guitar, I may look to pick up a TP-1R 40 in the future as the feel may be even better.

Do I recommend BlueChip picks...Absolutely, just protect it like shell.

  2. Great pick! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 25th Oct 2018

This thing is lovely! If anything, the next one for me will be a smaller one, but that's just how to hold it. Definitely going to get at least another, just not sure which thickness yet. But the sweet tone this thing lets pop out of the instrument as it lets go of the strings is awesome. Ridiculous price, especially buying from the UK and effectively paying 50 GBP for a pick, but still soooo worth it, especially if you're serious about recording. Will guard with my life. lol

  3. The best 5 Star Review

Posted by on 2nd Jul 2018

This pick is the perfect size and feel. I mostly use the pointed edges, but it's nice to have the rounded tip for the times I want a darker sound. I've been using this pick for everything from flatpicking to jazz, and on all my guitars. These are the best picks I've ever used.

  4. Clearly your best pick. 5 Star Review

Posted by on 27th Apr 2018

This pick delivers. You virtually can’t drop this pick when you strum. The material it is made of gives you a fuller sound on any guitar. Buy one and you will lose it. Buy two and you’ll always have the pick. You will be more mindful of putting the pick(s) in a safe place. Peter picked a peck of piper pickles...

It feels an extension of my hand and creates such an array of colours while remaining a or vision tool-just brilliant!

  6. Blue Chip Picks 5 Star Review

Posted by on 8th Nov 2017

Blue Chip picks are great picks which give a wonderful tone and feel for "pickin'". They also last so much longer than conventional picks. They receive my highest praise and recommendation. The folks who run the company are also very helpful with any questions that you might have.

  7. The best picks ever 5 Star Review

Posted by on 27th Sep 2017

I have purchased quite a few BlueChips over the last several years for me and some for my friends for gifts. Hands down the best banjo and guitar picks I have ever played for tone. And they last a long time. Just don't lose em. LOL.

  9. It's all about tone! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 7th Aug 2017

Blue Chip Picks are in my pick pouch to stay, mostly because of the tone they produce. But also because they are so easy to hold. They stay to stay on your fingers just where you want them to. And the longer you play, the better!
Worth every penny. And money saving over time, because you can't afford to lose and replace them like standard picks. So you develop anti-loss systems that work, instead of spending more money on replacement picks.

  10. Hard to Believe 5 Star Review

Posted by on 29th May 2017

That a pick could make such a difference in playability and sound quality. Makes my Taylor Big Baby sound as rich as my full size Taylor. Bought two more for my friends after they tried mine. They had the same reaction.
