TP50-1R

I've been using a TAD 60 mil Blue Chip pick for years with my electric guitars, and I couldn't be happier. Recently though, I've been playing a lot more acoustic, and the TAD was too thick and too large for good strumming. I decided to slim down to a smaller TP-1R at 50 mils and this is the sweet spot for me. The rounded edge is great for strumming, and the regular corners are great for picking. Good weight, good size, and easy and quick to flip with one hand.

This makes my 8th Blue Chip pick. I love these things. Their are consistency is exceptional. This is my second TP-1R. When i find one i really like i usually get a back up.

Never was able to get use to any pick, feel like they were giving annoying sound to my playing, not easy to handle, some thumb pick made some work with me, but never able to use a flat pick. My main playing style was fingerpicking or “picking with my thumb/index” but since started to use this pick it’s so easy to strum and even my beginner flat pick technique was so smooth. The price it’s a barrier that gets for a lot of people, but the tonal difference from the round edge and the beveled end makes amazing to play. Now I want to keep playing just because I want to keep improving using my pick, and my playing got amazingly better, and I know no one it’s going to believe the huge difference that this pick made in my playing style.

This pick thickness, 50, which I believe is about 1,25 mm, is neither too bright nor too dark. The one rounded point is sometimes useful. Size is great, although sometimes an STP is also very comfortable.

Now, I can’t stop thinking about trying the TPR 60 — I imagine the slightly thicker, fully rounded edge could add even more depth and control to my playing. But for now, I’m incredibly happy enjoying my TP-1R 50, exploring new sounds, and feeling more inspired than ever to keep playing and improving.
