Product Description
The TD is a standard teardrop shape pick with two rounded corners and one sharper playing corner. This is a TD in a 80/1000 of an inch(2mm) thickness. All of our picks a professionally machined, hand beveled, and laser etched.
Quarters, Nickels and Dimes, if included in the pictures, are for size reference only. They are not etched on the picks or included with the sale. To use this reference, please place a coin on your current non-Bluechip pick and then compare to the pictures of our picks with coins on top of them. This will help you choose the pick that is closest to your current favorite size and shape.

I've been using Dunlop Delrin 2.0mm picks for at least 12 years now (all 4 years in music school included), but this is all I plan on using from now on. The TD80 is the exact size, shape, and thickness of the Dunlops I was used to. So it felt really comfortable right away. But the TONE! I honestly noticed a huge difference. When I A/B'd my old Dunlop and the new Blue Chip, the difference in tone was like night and day. Now all I hear from the old pick is cheap plastic. This new material is almost an instrument unto itself. On top of that, I love how it feels when I'm playing -- the material is so smooth, and it doesn't appear to wear down (it's been 4 months since I received it). Who cares if they're more expensive? I don't lose picks very often, and these make such a big difference in tone and feel that they are a good investment. I will definitely be buying some more of these!

I've been playing with this pick for a few days now and comparing it with the old Dunlop 2.0mm I played with previously and honestly, it doesn't get half the tone the Dunlop does. The Blue Chip feels way better, and I could probably play a bit faster with it, but it just sounds wispy, and airy. I'm not going to sacrifice that much tone to play a few clicks faster. I can't even blame it on the guitar being garbage. It's an '06 Martin HD-28, and it's a real cannon. Don't make my mistake expect to have Grant Gordy's tone just 'cause you bought an expensive pick. I'll probably try another shape, and thickness before I knock Blue Chip for good though.

Do I Really Want To Spend This Much On A Pick?

The pick doesn't turn in my fingers when I'm playing - at all. I actually have to credit the pick with helping to smooth out my picking significantly and probably increasing my speed. The tone I get is great and it doesn't "click" against the strings.
I don't know what it takes to research the materials and craft a pick that can do all of this, but it's obvious to me that the people at Blue Chip have figured it out.
I bought the best guitar I could afford. I get the best strings for the type of playing and the tone I like. It would be foolish for me to compromise on the price of the pick if it really makes a difference -- and I've found out that it does.
