This is the TAD-1R pick in 60/1000th of an inch(1.5mm) thickness. It is identical to the TAD, but HAS ONE ROUNDED CORNER. All of our picks are professionally machined, hand beveled, and laser etched.
Quarters, Nickels and Dimes, if included in the pictures, are for size reference only. They are not etched on the picks or included with the sale. To use this reference, please place a coin on your current non-Bluechip pick and then compare to the pictures of our picks with coins on top of them. This will help you choose the pick that is closest to your current favorite size and shape.

This pick choice is the best all around pick available. It has a tacky feel, thickness is stiff but not bulky, and the combination of two sizes of radius in one provides excellent utility. The tone I achieve on my mandolins is unparalleled.

This pick has the perfect sturdiness for picking and strumming. For advanced players!

Anyone who's serious about picks or just curious about them, would likely come across mentions of BlueChip at some point, as they are often considered one of the very best picks you can get on the market. You'll find comments singing its praises about how smooth they glide over the strings, how full-bodied and warm they sound. I'm one of those people who bought BlueChip picks based on those comments, and I'm here to say that the hype is real. Everything they said is true.
BlueChip has gained such a reputation that other companies wanted to emulate those legendary qualities, and despite trying their best (AHEM, Dunlop Primetone and Gravity Gold series), they never can match it 100%.
For some people, the emulations from other companies get close enough, but for some, nothing short of a genuine BlueChip pick will be satisfactory. Which side you're on depends on whether you subjectively prefer BlueChip's unique qualities, and how much you care about diminishing returns.
To me, BlueChip picks glide over strings smoother, and has a fuller-bodied warmer-tone that's other similar picks don't quite match.
As for diminishing returns, I have over $700's worth of guitar picks from various companies, ranging from big corporations to small boutique shops, and BlueChip is one of my absolute favorites, despite being also one of the most expensive. There are certainly cheaper picks that come very close, and if I ever run out of money to spend on expensive picks, I'd be happy with the cheaper alternatives too. But while I still have the money to spend on expensive picks, I enjoy the luxury of playing BlueChip picks.

This is the most comfortable pick I have found and it sounds great. The only pick I like a bit better for tone is the CT 55 but this is right there next to it.

I have tried a dozen picks. This brand and model for mandolin is superior. Size is just right, nice and stiff, and perfect tone. I also like the single radius for mellow picking and tremolo. No issues with wear either. This pick has a nice tacky natural feel to it.

I already had a CT version of this pick and actually like the 60 vs the 55 CT for myself, though I still use them both. The 1-R is nice because on of the 3 corners is radiused for when I tremolo but the other 2 corners have the same edge as the CT 55 does. To be honest, I would not part with one or the other.

I use this pick in two separate bands playing mandolin and acoustic guitar. I have found it to be great for all kinds of play including a mandolin chop or picking out a solo on guitar. The thickness suits my style of play no matter what style of music I’m playing. I bought the first one over a year ago and just purchased a second one with my name on it. I highly recommend this pick. I’ve used several picks in the past including tortoise shell. Blue Chip is hands down the best!
Bands are Strungover and Overdrive in Dayton, Ohio.

took some getting used to, but finally found the feel. Tone clarity and ease of play - getting through the strings is markedly easier. I'd been using a blunter tip profile in order to smooth out the tone, but with this pick, I can use the pointier tip and still get a very smooth attack. Brilliant for fast and/or nuanced playing as well - dynamic control takes much less conscious effort

TAD60-1R is my favorite of the 3 Blue Chip picks I've tried. Good for acoustic and electric. My brother in law took my pick when he heard it even though it had my name engraved on it. I just ordered another, this time without a speed bevel.
Immediate improvement on acoustic in attack, warmth and overtones compared with the TPR60 with speed bevel.
Also prefer the TAD60-1R on electric.

I am reviewing as a mandolin player. First, in my experience--and I have tried many, many of the best rated picks out there--BlueChip picks are absolutely unparalleled. I don't need to spend much time reiterating what other reviewers have amply noted. These picks bring out the depth of woody tones of the instrument; they also produce a clean and focused sound--bright but not sharp; they glide smoothly but don't slip; they last virtually forever. I have several different kinds of BC picks. I've mostly settled on the TAD-1R 60 as my go-to pick for my modern mandos: five stars doesn't capture how highly I esteem this particular pick. Let me add here another wonderful thing about BlueChip. Their return policy. You can return a pick (non-personalized) within 30 days and get a replacement or a refund. I have twice returned a pick to receive a different pick instead. The service is prompt, no questions asked, really top-notch. I have nothing but praise for this company and its products. I do occasionally use other picks for particular sounds and situations--Wegen, EML, Wolle, Dunlop mostly--but I'm using BlueChips 80% of the time. If premium sound and playability are your goals, these picks are worth every penny.
