I encourage players who buy my guitars to get blue chip picks, a great guitR deserves a great pick.

  2. Great pick 3 Star Review

Seems weird to say great pick, but it is. The sound is great, a little bit of a click, but not big, just right. And when I bear down it makes my Boyd 18 guitar sing. Not really impressed with the sound on my Weber mandolin, but it is easier to play with. Hope it lasts a long time

  3. Love the first one so much I bought another! 5 Star Review

I tried a CT55 for my Mandolin a few months ago and could not believe the difference in the control and clarity compared to my other picks. I material the Blue chip picks are made of sticks really well to my fingers. I have a Mandocello as well so instead of stealing the pick from my Mandolin all the time I thought I would just get another Blue Chip. I chose the TAD-1R 50 because the size is nearly identical to the CT55 and I thought one rounded corner might come in handy for a different sound. Thanks Blue Chip

  4. a good pick fir several styles and instruments 5 Star Review

This pick is a nice size and thickness fir me, one thing I like is the one roundedec tip, with a little transition time you can rotate tips for different tone clarity if notes verses waxier tremolo, you can hAve a chunkier chop or z crisper chop on a mandolin,
I also use it on my acoustic guitar. I have a TAD1R 40 that I give a slight edge to the guitar and an edge to the TAD1R for.my mandolin.

  5. I thought I'd lost my mind 5 Star Review

Having never spent more that about $0.50 for a pick in my 45 years of playing, I thought I'd lost my mind in considering buying a pick that was 70 times more expensive. After reading reviews on the Acoustic Guitar Forum and considering it was my birthday, my wife insisted that I splurge. With the wide variety of available picks, I took a chance on the TAD1R-50. Of course, it wouldn't do not to have it engraved so I spent the extra $5 for engraving and added an engraved pick box as well. When it arrived (incredibly quickly, I should add), I was amazed at the quality of the box. What completely blew me away was the noticeably better sound and control in playing. I had my wife do an eyes closed listening test where I played using my old type pick, the new Blue Chip on the sharper corner, and the new Blue Chip on the rounded corner. Her first comment was that the BC pick sounded better and brighter. She could also hear the difference between the sound of the rounded corner vs the sharper corner. I am sold and have rethought my picking of picks. These picks sound better, play easier, and don't seem to wear. I've become more protective of my pick. These are worth hanging on to.

  6. Great picks 4 Star Review

My wish for the 50 is that it was thinner. That's probably not possible so how about a TAD 45. I have the 40 and it's slightly to flexible. Other than that I love your picks.

  7. One of my favorite 5 Star Review

Posted by on 7th Sep 2015

It took me a long while to build up the courage to purchase such a costly pick but I do not regret my purchase one bit. I love the fact that it has one rounded edge as it allows me to be very versatile. I highly recommend this pick to anyone.

  8. I'll never go back. 5 Star Review

Posted by on 25th Aug 2014

Last year, when I looked at the price of the Blue Chip picks, I thought "Whow! That's a lot of moola for a pick." So I waited to see if I was responsible enough to hold onto a single pick for a full 12 months. Only then, after playing the same Wegen for a year, did I dare try the Blue Chips. Oh my! what a difference! The sound is clear and perfect. The difference is mind blowing, especially on my D-28. The pick is perfectly balanced in my hand and I love being able to switch from the pointed to the round ends, depending on what I'm playing.

  9. Incredible! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 11th Jul 2014

Ok, I am in the Navy. About 2 weeks before I was scheduled to fly home with my guitar I decided I order a TAD-1R 50 to have waiting on me when I got home. I could hardly contain my excitement to see for myself what the fuss was all about. When I got home, I discovered that the airline lost my Martin D-35. Boo! It took about 8 more days, but thank goodness I got her back. At first, before my acoustic hot here, I didn't understand what the fuss was about- the pick didn't seem all that different and trying it on my Strat was cool, but not as great as I expected. Anyway, when my Martin arrived, I became convinced. I love my D-35, but man, with the Blue Chip it's just better at everything. The sound is better and I honestly didn't think that was possible. The tone is somehow louder and clearer- piano like. I can't get enough. My fingers are killing me because I can't stop playing. I am inspired like never before. Thank you for an amazing product!!

  10. Best Pick I've Used by Fa 5 Star Review

Posted by on 7th Apr 2014

The TAD-50 1R is a great pick. I have the TAD-80 1R as well. All of the rerviews praising these picks are absolutly true. Great tone, easy to grip, great speed etc. I play a lot of fiddle tunes and mostly use the rounded point. I like the 1R because the 2 sharp points make it easier for me to grip. After taking a lesson with Tim Stafford I think I am going to try the TAD-40 1R. He indicated he felt I would get a warmer tone and that that Blue Chips were still plenty stiff at that gauge.

Thank you Blue Chip for improving my playing!
