  1. Attention all tortoise shell picks! Please move to the back seat! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 3rd Aug 2014

The BlueChip TPR50 is the best pick I've ever used for mandolin. I'm more of a guitar player (for which I use TD50's) than a mandolin player. With that said, I am struck by how much this pick can enhance the tone of my mandolin. It can make a pac-rim mando sound more like a fine American mandolin or one of those beauties from down under. You know who I mean! A BlueChip pulls the woody tone out of a mandolin like nothing else on planet earth! BlueChip picks have rendered tortoise shell obsolete! So hurry and go buy one!!!

  2. this is for me the Bluegrass Special 5 Star Review

I've tried the right bevel and round bevel and the right bevel is better for me. Even though I have big hands, I like this smaller size

  3. great picks 5 Star Review

Bought this pick for my son for Easter and he loves it. I also use the JD Crowe thumbpick along with Sammy's finger picks for myself and won't use anything else playing banjo or fingerpicking guitar.

  4. The Perfect Pick 5 Star Review

Posted by on 3rd Jan 2014

I have bought a couple of these picks now hoping to build my inventory. However, at Christmas I always offer a pick to my guitar instructor who also plays a mandolin. He grabbed this one and absolutely raves about it. As a result I am down to one and will have to purchase another.

  5. BLUE CHIP 5 Star Review

Posted by on 6th Jul 2013

Ive had to get used to it it is thinner than my favorite wegen, which Ive become quite fond of. The blue chip produces a much cleaner brighter tone and is very fast, does not hang on the strings at all.It is a very good pick ,I find myself switching back and forth,I think I would like one that is a little heavier though I must say I am quite pleased.

  6. Fabulous picks -- and equally fabulous customer service! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 11th Jun 2013

Blue Chips picks have already achieved legendary status among serious pickers, so I scarcely need extoll their many virtues here. Yes, they are pricey, but the material itself (an advanced polyimide plastic) is very costly, so that's to be expected. Just be sure not to put your pick where you might lose it, and don't lend it out! I especially appreciate how willing Blue Chip has been to allow exchanges/returns until I identified the perfect pick type for my playing. And for me, the icing on the cake is that they were able to provide me with their TPR pick -- a great shape for mandolin -- in a 0.055" thickness (a "TPR55"). And this isn't even on the menu, so to speak! And there was no extra charge. Now, that's going the extra mile. Hurray for Blue Chip. Great product, great service.

  7. TPR 50 - Still can't believe it... 5 Star Review

Posted by on 25th Jan 2013

    I purchased a TRP50 and a TREP 60.
The TRP50 is beautiful. It glides off of each string and with the "speed bevel" I play noticably faster and with greater tone.
The TRP 50 is a "heavy" pick but with the produces te toal brilliance of a "medium" pick. OH and I drop it way less than those other plastic and other material picks. Don;'t waste your time or money on anything other than a BlueChip Pick. I Love it!

  8. TPR 50, best rounded pick I've tried 5 Star Review

Posted by on 17th Jan 2013

After using the TP 50 for few weeks I decied to try the TPR 50 for a less bright sound. I'm very happy with the results in both sound and playability. Also worth mentioning the great customer service.

  9. thank you bluechip. 5 Star Review

Posted by on 6th Dec 2012

For years I've been looking for a pick that gave me the tone and feel I needed without continuing to work and shape it until it was time for me to fine another one. TPR - 50 was made for me, Bluegrass and bluechip picks, keeping the music real. Kevin Carter; lead guitar player with Full Assurance.

  10. Smooth 5 Star Review

Posted by on 24th Nov 2012

Now have three blue chip picks. This is by the best for my mandolin playing. I can hold it well yet it comes off the strings so smoothly. This is indeed the pick for me in the years ahead
