Product Overview

This version of the TPR was custom created for Doyle Lawson. We worked with him to create pick to his exact needs. This is the exact pick that Doyle Lawson is currently using. This TPR is our classic TP pick with corners that are slightly round in a 45/1000th of an inch(1.12mm) thickness.  Our picks are all precision machined and hand beveled for the highest quality.

Quarters, Nickels and Dimes, if included in the pictures, are for size reference only. They are not etched on the picks or included with the sale. To use this reference, please place a coin on your current non-Bluechip pick and then compare to the pictures of our picks with coins on top of them. This will help you choose the pick that is closest to your current favorite size and shape.

    Most comfortable pick I own

The TPR45 allows me effortless playing, great for heavier rhythm and tasteful lead lines. Also, easy to hold when I'm using my fingers for certain songs. My new favorite!

Right combination of stiffness and weight

Posted by John on 8th Oct 2025

I have used 50s, 45s and I recently bought a 40 to try it. I like the 45 the best. I can still feel the string with it but the stiffness seems just right. I also prefer the TPR but the TP works as well. Depends on your stroke. The only downside for some living in Canada is the shipping plus due to recent changes in shipping regulations you have to pay duty and brokerage fees. It ended up costing around $150 Canadian for 2 picks. So don’t lose one!

    Quite good.

I have the TPR with the speed bevel and the round edge. Both are great, useful tools. I've had many excellent guitar picks from a variety of materials. This pick is warm to the touch right out of the package and warm on the ears from the very first note. Quite surprised by how sweet they sound. Best of luck to Blue Chip. They really have something special here.

Good pick, service not so good.

Posted by Unknown on 15th Jan 2025

I ordered a pick on Dec 07 and got the pick on Dec 20. Trouble is, the engraving I ordered was wrong. I notified them and Mathew Goins assured me he would correct it. Well, it's been almost a month and no corrected pick. My advice is just order the pick, they are good but, don't waste time and money on engraving.

    BEST PICKS EVER

Posted by Dan Daniel on 24th Jan 2024

I have played guitar for over 60 years and in that time I have used many different types of picks, and I can say without a doubt that the BlueChip picks are the best I have ever used. As the President and CEO of the Southeastern Bluegrass Association and a performing professional bluegrass musician with my band Georgia Grass I would recommend the BlueChip Picks to anyone looking for a great product. I prefer the TPR45 when playing my old Martin because it brings out the tone and feels smooth to me when playing rhythm or when flatpicking. I also used a BlueChip thumb pick when playing my Banjo. I also like the fact that you can have your name engraved on your pick. Thank You for a Great Product Dan Daniel

There’s just not a better pick out there. Started using them back when the company started and still using them today. Can’t say enough, they’re great!

Love 'em. Clean attack, very responsive. The best in my humble opinion.
