Product Description

The TP is our classic triangular pick in a 50/1000 of an inch thickness(1.25mm). The TP is the same size as the TPR, but has slightly sharper corners. All of our picks are professionally machined, hand beveled, and laser etched.

Quarters, Nickels and Dimes, if included in the pictures, are for size reference only. They are not etched on the picks or included with the sale. To use this reference, please place a coin on your current non-Bluechip pick and then compare to the pictures of our picks with coins on top of them. This will help you choose the pick that is closest to your current favorite size and shape.

  1. Favorite Picks 5 Star Review

Posted by on 9th Jan 2019

I have several TP 50s and TP 48s - Best pick I've ever used. I've tried everything, from Fender Mediums to tortoise to Wegen (second favorite). You won't go wrong getting at least one Blue Chip.

  2. TP50 5 Star Review

Posted by on 9th Jan 2019

This is my third Blue Chip. I also own a td50 and TAD45. Guitar players talk in great detail about tonewood and strings etc etc and fork out a great deal of cash on guitars and gear. Yet little attention is given to the very thing we flatpickers use to actually use to get our sound. I’ve used many picks over the years And I’m very impressed by the tone and durability of Blue Chip picks. Now that I’m used to them . Nothing else will do.

  3. TP-50 review 5 Star Review

I love the TP-50. I play a Martin OM-21 and love to flat pick. Definitely worth the $35; I paid an extra $5 to have my wife’s name engraved on the pick and the engraving appears as though it will hold up for a very long time. TP-50 makes for a great when I pick bluegrass and jazz. Overall great pick.

  4. New Favorite 5 Star Review

Love this thickness (50 thou) for flat picking and back-up, because it seems to balance volume and control the best of all I've tried. Also, the TP is my favorite shape for control and comfort.

  5. Great Pick 5 Star Review

As the owner of 4 different BlueChip picks, the TP50 is my favourite. Like any other BlueChip, it sounds great, feels great, and does not wear quickly.

  6. Exchanged for a TPR 60 4 Star Review

I have and love the Kennny Smith picks . I like the rounded corners of the TPR 60 as opposed to the sharper TP50
Blue Chip picks are the best !

  7. Worth the extra $$ 5 Star Review

Posted by on 9th Oct 2018

Believe me, I was a skeptic at first. After receiving the TP50, I was hooked. The comfortability and the tone are simply unmatched. The TP50 is a great size and really nice shape. If you're looking for a pick that will really bring out the woody tone and bottom end of your Martin or comparable guitar, this is it. Great for the Bluegrass rhythm guitar player. I now own a TPR50 and TD60, and the JD Crowe model thumb pick for my banjo. If you've spend $2,000 or more on your guitar, what's another 40 bucks?

  8. Great pick. 5 Star Review

Posted by on 31st Aug 2018

Great pick, but too thin for me. Lost it 3 days after purchase. Ordered a Red Bear to replace one I lost a few years ago, and will prolly order another Bluechip in a thicker size.
The difference I noticed between this and the Red Bear is the Bluechip bevel is not as severe as on the Red Bear and cuts down on some of the clicky pick-on-string noise that the Red Bear had. Which I like, but don't always want. The BC being a thinner pick where I'm heavy handed on Medium strings and always wanting more bass response just needs to be sized up. If I wanted to hear the strings over the guitar, I'd just buy a cheapo acoustic. Pick thickness plays heavily into this to my ear. Regardless, this is a top quality pick. You CANNOT replicate the Bluechip tone, smoothness, and feel with a quick trip to Guitar Center. I'm hip to the chip!

Been searching for the perfect pick for 15 years. I think I found it!!

  10. beat and extraordinary 5 Star Review

Posted by on 30th Apr 2018

Originally I bought TP50 and TAD40 for acoustic guitar, for I am living in countryside in Japan and cannot try Bluechip. My friend recommended me and gave me a chance to try TP 50 and I think this pick is really extraordinary. Anyway I want to try different one of Bluechip and chose TAD 40.
As a result, TAD40 is best for e guitar as for me. Before I had never used such big pick for e guitar, but thanks for sincere work, TAD40 is really really good for any kind of styles.
By the way, I have guitar students and one of them was not able to play so fast. BUT with TAD40 he can play so fast , which make him super surprised and laugh.
I had been using turtle pick for acoustic guitar for 16 years, but from now I switched to Bluechip and would never come back to turtle. Both of them aren best and extraordinary for me as ever.
