Product Description

The TP is our classic triangular pick in a 50/1000 of an inch thickness(1.25mm). The TP is the same size as the TPR, but has slightly sharper corners. All of our picks are professionally machined, hand beveled, and laser etched.

Quarters, Nickels and Dimes, if included in the pictures, are for size reference only. They are not etched on the picks or included with the sale. To use this reference, please place a coin on your current non-Bluechip pick and then compare to the pictures of our picks with coins on top of them. This will help you choose the pick that is closest to your current favorite size and shape.

  1. Pricey, but the greatest pcik ever 5 Star Review

Posted by on 26th May 2015

I can't say enough about the tone, durability, and the feel. It doesn't serrate and catch like all other types I've tried. It just glides off the strings. Most importantly, it doesn't slide around in my fingers. Great product. My musician friends would kick my a$$ if they knew how much it costs. But its worth it.

  2. Awesome pick! 5 Star Review

I bought my first one 3 years ago just to see if what everyone said was true. It was! I can't practice or perform without it!

  3. Can't wear them out 5 Star Review

Posted by on 5th Mar 2015

This is the second pick TP50 I bought . I only bought the second one because I wanted one to leave in each guitar case, D 18GE and D28 LSV, I purchased my last one , a year ago. I play about 20 hours a week . In that time the pick has shown very minor wear. The bevels rounded just a bit , but still roughly the same size. I would have purchased at least 3 or more Wegen's in that time by now and I thought they wore well. I've had many tortoise shell picks over the years and Blue Chips seem closest to those in sound only infinitely more durable.

  4. Excellent!! 5 Star Review

This is by far and away the best pick I've ever used. It plays smoothly and cleanly. It also sounds clear and true with a crisp attack. This pick works very well on acoustic as well as electric guitar. It's also great for mandolin. These pick aren't cheap, but they're money well spent!

  5. Best Pick EVER, and I've tried a LOT! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 13th Jan 2015

Back in February 2014, I attended the SPBGMA conference in Nashville, TN. I met Matthew Goins and told him about my YouTube channel and how popular it has become for Bluegrass pickers. I asked him for a sample BlueChip pick and he handed me the TP50.

After playing with it for nearly a year, I have to say that it is by far the BEST pick I've ever played with! It hardly wears out! And with the TP series, I have 3 picks in one since each corner is a brand new pick!

I've used D'Andrea, Dunlop, Dava, Fender, V-Picks, and even Tortoise Shell picks, and nothing comes close! Now, after receiving a brand new Breedlove Revival DR-Deluxe for Christmas, which pick did I purchase for it? You guessed it: another TP50...with my name engraved!

Thanks to Matthew for being so generous and introducing me to a truly awesome pick that has all the tone, clarity, and speed I need for keeping my sound the way it should be both on my YouTube channel and on the stage!

  6. Expensive, but good! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 23rd Dec 2014

Great pick, I have been using A TP40 pick for the last year. Great attack, feel and size. I also had a TPR 50, which produces a great tone but not as sharp as the TP shape…so I treated myself with a TP 50, fantastic!

Just don't drop it on a brown carpet!

  7. TP45 pick 5 Star Review

I special ordered a TP45 blue chip pick. I find it's a suitable feel for me between the thickness and response of the TP50 and the TP40.

  8. Great Picks 5 Star Review

The Pick that plays the best, sounds the best. Never slips out of your fingers. Doesn't seem to ear out, like shell.

  9. my favorite pick 5 Star Review

Posted by on 27th May 2014

I've been pickin' a long time. Back in the 60s, it was tortoise shell. Then Fender mediums. I tried this'n'that: Wegen, Red Bear...now it's Blue Chip. The basic triangle in 50 dimension. It's got the beef I need for mandolin & guitar (bluegrass/swing), and the material wears better than tortoise shell.

  10. TP50 BlueChip pick 4 Star Review

Posted by on 3rd Apr 2014

I got this TP50 BlueChip pick to replace my tortoise shell Picks because my supply of tortoise shell Picks is getting low & I feel the need to find something as good as TS but is very hard to find & I tried everything out there.
I've found BlueChip to be the closest yet but I do feel the synthetic in these picks but found as I'm getting used to this pick, in ways it actually sounds better, a little louder/clearer.
One good thing is it doesn't wear very fast & so far I really like it.
