Great pick that is worth the money. As someone once said to me, "If you are going to play an expensive instrument, why wouldn't you use the best pick to get the best possible sound out of your instrument?"

Being a guitar player for 40 years I've tried nearly every pick there is, with the exception of tortoise, only because I've never had the opportunity to own one. As I purchased my very first Martin guitar a few months ago, and love playing this guitar so much I decided to look into perfecting my picking techniques.
I viewed the videos on youtube and read thousands of forum posts about which pick is best, longest lasting, etc. Consistently there were 2-3 name brands that always popped up and BlueChip was one of them. So I did a little more research and find such favorable reviews I decided to give one a try.
Yeah the price was an issue somewhat, I don't think I ever paid more than a buck for a pick my entire life. But curiosity got the best of me and I figured what the heck, a buck forty years ago is about equivalent to $35 today, so the price isn't such an issue anymore.
Having always used a thin pick, I decided to try a medium BlueChip pick. When it arrived, which was within days of ordering, I grabbed the guitar and gave a good strum on the E chord. OMG! I couldn't believe this was my guitar. The warmth of the tone was so noticeable and the lack of clicking noise as well. I continued to play pick and was amazed at how well this pick felt and played. It was a natural for me. I have become a better player due to this pick! It seems to slide over the strings effortlessly, making you faster and more accurate.
There is definitely no other pick I am interested in using. This is my pick for life and I intend to try a few of the other styles in the future. Try one, you won't be disappointed!

I have a small collection of real tortise shell - inherited from my grandmother. They are better than any new produciton pick and I am a pick nut and am always trying new picks. The blue Chip TD 40 I got is better. In two ways its superior, 1) Its about 10% better in tone and feel than real tortise which is itself 15% better than all other picks. 2) And this is big!!! Blue Chips don't wear! Tortise wears really quickly and requires constant sanding and polishing. And for all intents and purposes there's no point in using tortise because you can never find more. Now I must live with the constant fear of losing it!!! The price is more than fair when compared to tortise pricks and in comparison to what you spend in a year on regular picks.

I use it primarily for bluegrass flatpicking and it really does facilitate clean, fast playing with a great tone. Love the beveled edge.

This is the best I have ever used in my 30 plus years of playing.
I have been using my first one for 5 years and basically no pick wear with daily use.

I noticed no picking noise on the video's. I bought one and they are as everyone said. I stopped using other picks. I'm a beginner and even I can tell. Sticks to your fingers but isn't sticky. Makes strumming smoother. I got the TD 40. The "regular" pick.

These days I play mostly acoustic guitars with medium strings. I play almost every day with 2-4 gigs per week. I had used Fender and Dunlop picks for years. I was always unhappy with the rough spots that would develop on the pick that created a sandpaper like sound against the strings. I would bring 5-6 picks to every gig and then need to use a ultra light steel wool to polish the picks before the next gig. I've used the TD40 at 5 gigs now. It has held remarkably well so far.

I've gotten so used to the quality of this pick I was afraid to not have backups. Great tone, great response, easy grip, wear like iron. Never thought I'd pay this much for a pick, but then, before I owned my first Martin, I never thought I'd pay that much for a guitar. In both cases, I feel a difference worth the expense.

I use different BC picks for different instruments. They are simply the best. The BC TD 40 is perfect for my Phoenix Neoclassical mandolin. I also have an old BC 40, no TD on the pick. I have had it for years. It is my most favorite pick.
