TAD40

The TAD 40 feels great in my fingers with no slipping. It brings out the best in my guitar.

When I first received my TAD40 I have to admit that I was not doing back flips over it like others. It was MUCH bigger in size than I am used to, and I have big hands. Also, initially it didn't sound that much different than my $5 pick. But with more use I am growing to like it more and more. The differences are more subtle than I expected, but does have a "cleaner" sound to it. There is still some pick noise but it is more subdued. This pick feel thinner than the stated size and it is not overly stiff. All in all with timeI think this will be my favorite pick.

I have used Blue Chip picks for some time now. I recently got a new guitar (OM with light gauge strings) and have been trying to find the perfect pick for it. I have a TAD50 that I really liked, but thought a thinner pick would sound better. So I bought the TAD40, and it is perfect! I like the size of the TAD picks - they are very comfortable for me. The material of the Blue Chip picks is fantastic, making the pick glide so easily across the strings.

I normally use the TAD60 - I found it was great but a bit clunky for my small fingers. So, on a whim I tried the 40 and after a few days, I quite like it. I don't find the tone much different but it is easier to hold and pick.

The old cliche "Try it, you'll like it !" does not hold true for these guitar picks. "Try it, you'll LOVE it !!!" says it all. For tone, grip-ability, longevity, etc Blue Chip picks cannot be beat.

They produce a clean sound because there is no pick noise and they slide off the string which is a big help for fast tunes. The BlueChip picks are made from material that will last a long time.

These picks are awesome! Regular plastic picks eventually develop a rough edge from strumming across the strings. Not only will the BlueChip never wear out, but it also has a beveled edge that improves tone. BlueChip has a great product and they ship very quickly.

I play the mandolin and have used a wide range of plectrums over the past 25 years. These have included Jim Dunlop Nylon Maxigrip 1.2mm, Big Stubby 2mm and 3 mm (the playing tip tapers to a point) and attempts at wood, steel and other strange materials and using Gorilla Snot and Pick Honey to keep the thing on my fingers. I have also regularly suffered severe cramp in my right hand while playing over the past couple of years. I came across the Blue Chip claims two months ago and after much hmming and haaing, decided to give it a go. I live in Belfast - the total cost of getting the plectrum in my hand was about £45, which is, prima facie, bonkers. After 1 week, all cramp has gone, the plectrum gives the open strings a bell like quality which is great, speed, reponse and inflection are all spot on and playing music is just a pleasure. It is a great thing and a positive contribution to the human condition. I have to find a box with a lock on it mind you.

After 25+ years of limping along with this that and the other pick...always chasing better set up...or then thinking "well maybe its the strings" or "maybe I just suck"...I got one of these for my 47th birthday from my teenagers. I tend to use a thicker pick for mandolins (wegens) but have quickly gotten used to this thinner pick. It doesn't flex and become misshapen and it has an amzing crystal clear bell-like effect on tone. Massive volume when you need it. bevelled very slightly. They suit a loose or a tight grip. I feel like I've been cycling with one leg and just grew a second. Hurrah to the blue chipsters. Go raibh mile maith agat
