Product Overview
The STP is a smaller version of the TP. It is the same basic size as our Kenny Smith signature pick, but has sharper corners. The STP in a 50 thickness is the pick that Adam Steffey currently uses. This is the STP in 60/1000ths of an inch thickness(1.50mm). All of our picks are professionally machined, hand beveled, and laser etched. This pick comes with a speed bevel.
Quarters, Nickels and Dimes, if included in the pictures, are for size reference only. They are not etched on the picks or included with the sale. To use this reference, please place a coin on your current non-Bluechip pick and then compare to the pictures of our picks with coins on top of them. This will help you choose the pick that is closest to your current favorite size and shape.

5 Great picks
Posted by Lee Rademacher on 18th Sep 2025
I purchased two Bluechip picks before ordering the STP 60. The first two are very good picks but I thought I would try something stiffer. I used Dunlop Jazz III picks for about forty years. They are great for an electric guitar. However their tone is shabby on an acoustic guitar. I have two custom made O.C. Bear guitars. Beautifully made and they ring out a pure sound. Bluechip picks bring out that hand-made tone very well. But the STP 60 takes that tone to new levels. It produces vibrations that no pick has ever done. It’s a treasure.

5 Best Picks Ever Owned!
Posted by Chicago Paul on 7th Jul 2025
In recent years, I have been experimenting with different "custom" picks and using much thicker gauges compared to what I have in the past so, when I came across a feature clip from the WSJ I went to Blue Chip Pick's website and placed an order for two picks. All I can say is that the material glides over strings like butter and the tone produced far surpasses similar picks within the same price point. These picks will last a long time, but I definitely plan to purchase a few extras in the future - high quality, hand crafted and made in the USA by a small business! That says it all to this player!

3 Unbalanced

Feels great to hold, nice beveling… Sounds fantastic on the low strings, thin and anemic on the treble strings. Too bad

5 I now have FOUR!!! - My long-found, absolute favorite pick

These picks are expensive, very much so, yes. But if your mandolin, guitar, etc. is $2,500 - 3,500, and your hands are priceless, it's hard to not proportionately justify the BEST of the very thing that makes the sound between your instrument and your hand. It just glides over the strings! Amazing tone, and simply doesn't seem to wear out. Slick, but somehow seem to easily keep grip. They ARE expensive, and I highly recommend the extra $5 to engrave our name on it. AND, it is almost the same size/feel as the Dunlop PrimeTone Small TRI pick. -- They're also not "cheap" but you can definitely, economically, use those as 'expendable' (read: 'lose-able') picks, and bring out this one when/where it counts, and you know, you care enough, not to lose it. [the Dunlops only come beveled for right handers tho] If the standard, HUGE triangle pick is just too... huge, this, along with the Dunlops mentioned above, may be a dream come true. It is a really, really good pick.

5 As Good As Its Reputation
Posted by Unknown on 31st Jul 2024
Got the STP60 as I have smallish hands but like a stiffer pick. The BC pick has a great feel, comes off the strings just right and has excellent maneuverability. The instrument here was an Eastman 515. I also tried the STP60 on my Eastman mandola and here I think the larger TP60 would be better in handling the heavier strings. The TP60 compares to the Dunlop Primetone I've been using and the greater width works better on the mandola. That said, the STP60 does come off the strings a bit better than the Primetone.

5 Focused Tone - Less Pick Noise
Posted by JMH on 15th Aug 2023
This is my new Favorite pick! I play mostly electric, and you don't get as much of the clicking noise of the pick hitting the string which allows the note to shine through. I have a 2mm Kirinite pick made by a boutique maker and the BlueChip pick has a bit less bass , but is much more focused in all the right frequencies for guitar. I hope we see a STP1R in the future because this size is absolutely perfect for me!

5 Exceeds expectations

My Blue Chip STP imparts a neutral to warm tone that accents the fundamental of the note. I'm still learning more about the response of the pick and string, but it seems to respond the the nuance of my playing exceedingly well. I have used V-Picks for years, so I am accustomed to high quality picks. I've set my usual Dimension aside while I explore the Blue Chip tones.

5 you wont find any better

I’ve used a ton of picks, even the Dunlop prime tones that are supposed to be like BlueChip, but they don’t even come close to this pick. This is the best pick you’ll ever use and it’s worth every penny.
