Loading... Please wait...The Jazz LG is a pick that is very similar in shape to our original Jazz pick. It is slightly larger than the regular jazz pick. This is a Jazz LG in a 50/1000 of an inch(1.25mm) thickness. All of our picks a professionally machined, hand beveled, and laser etched. This pick comes with a universal rounded bevel.

Quarters, Nickels and Dimes, if included in the pictures, are for size reference only. They are not etched on the picks or included with the sale. To use this reference, please place a coin on your current non-Bluechip pick and then compare to the pictures of our picks with coins on top of them. This will help you choose the pick that is closest to your current favorite size and shape.

I got a custom version of a custom pick; The Andy Wood pick in 45 gauge and no grip holes. When it arrived I used the pick nonstop for a week of rehearsals, then for six one-hour sets, and there is virtually no wear whatsoever. Amazing!
The Andy Wood pick falls in between the Regular and Large jazz sizes, if anything it's a little closer to the Large. About 27.5-28mm in total length. This is a hard size to find and is exactly what I was looking for. I talked with Allen several times before ordering and he couldn't have been more helpful, even offering to make the pick in any gauge they offered. And no problem at all hanging on to the pick without the grip holes. That would just be for personal preference.
This is the first of many Blue Chip picks in my future! Easily worth every penny. Thanks Blue Chip!

I can't rave enough about the LG 50 pick with the Andy Wood modifications. Sure, you could say it's an expensive pick; but, I look at it as the greatest value I've ever gotten from musical gear. No guitar, amp, effect or string, and certainly no other pick, instantly made a substantial improvement in the speed and fluidity of my playing, and allowed me to translate the technical refinements in my head into my playing. The tone is simply spectacular, and when you spend less effort overcoming string friction, you can hold the pick looser so you relax and enjoy playing more. Warm, yet clear with just the right amount of harmonic character. Articulate, but gives a terrific blend on my Martin, Strat and Mandolin. Easy to grip and tuck into your hand for chicken picking... Don't overthink this decision. Just try one. I'm certain you won't regret it. ps, the little leather holder that goes on your keyring is a great addition. This way I always have my pick with me, and I find it's really easy to keep track of it (as opposed to my other approach of leaving picks everywhere so I have one when I need it....)

I purchased the Andy Wood Version of the Jazz35 LG, Jazz40 LG, Jazz50 LG, Jazz60 LG. I am completely happy with these purchases. The picks are articulate, precise, and smooth. I use the different gauge picks with different guitars and string gauge tensions. I love that the (Andy Wood) version of the picks is sized right between the regular and large size jazz pick and comes with gripping holes. I highly recommend these picks.

I use this pick (BC JAZZ JG 50) with two very different guitars: a Fender Strat (with D'Addario pure nickel jazz 11 strings) and a Gibson ES-175 (with D'Addarrio chrome flat jazz 12 strings). The pick is very articulate and warm, and provides a solid, clear note across all dynamics.
I also have a TP1R 50 that I've used with my acoustic guitar for years. It is an amazing pick for the acoustic. I was a little bit worried that the sound quality these picks grant to the acoustic would not be as apparent on my electric guitars. I was wrong. Well worth the price for both acoustic and electric.
Physically, the size is just right for my medium-sized hands and the grip is good. By far my new favorite pick for jazz.

My father gave me my first JazzLG 50. I never thought just a pick could make such a difference. The clarity and control that happened on the first note surprised me. Months went by and one day I lost my pick. It was like losing a dear friend.A week later I ordered a new one because no other pick felt or sounded the same. Love the new one just as much! Bluechip makes the very best pick.

I got the Andy Wood version (you should really make it a standard model) And its got the perfect size, right in the middle of a regular J3 and and J3XL, grip holes does the job perfectly.
Tone: varm, little pick noise if any, slides over the strings better than most anything else. Highly recommended.

Absolutely love the sound and feel of this pick. It is the perfect "match" if you are used to a Dunlop Jazz III XL. The 1.25mm thickness is pretty close to the Jazz III as well, so the "flex" is nearly identical. I have gotten quite accustomed to the Pickboy Jazz picks though; and the BC Jazz XL is a bit taller. I opted to exchange my BC Jazz XL for a regular BC Jazz for this reason.
To my ears, and with my playing style, Blue Chip picks are a bit brighter than the Pickboy celluloid material, yet smoother than the Dunlop nylon material. Way faster off the string than any pick I've tried.

About a month ago I finally had a chance to try out a blue-chip someone had and needless to say I wanted to get one of my own.
I placed an order for a BC Jazz LG 50 with the Andy wood specs(highly recommend) and in a few days it arrived.
The pick feels amazing and smooth not scratchy over the strings, very similar to polycarbonate with no string noise. It allows your hand to relax allowing you to play smooth clean and effortless lines.
Even for the price you cannot beat the durability as I've been playing mine every day and has not shown any signs of wear.
I know the website features a lot of Bluegrass and mandolin players but from a metal guitarist point of view this thing will do just fine and will take any punishment you can dish out.
If you are serious about your gear or playing then you owe yourself to at least have one in your collection! I would by 20 if I can afford it!

This pick has cleaned up my technique, given me better tone, better control, & is sturdy as a rock!!! I intend to buy more as soon as I can:)

I've been using Red Bear Big Jazzer for years now but find them a little too small. The LG50 is a little larger, more like the Dunlop Jazz III XL, so perfect size. Plus, the tone is great.
