The CT55 is a pick custom designed by Chris Thile for his personal use. It is very similar in size and shape to our TAD line of picks. However it is only manufactured in 55/1000 of an inch(1.4mm) thickness and has a custom bevel per his specifications. This is the exact pick that Chris Thile is currently using. See his thoughts on this pick on our users page.
Quarters, Nickels and Dimes, if included in the pictures, are for size reference only. They are not etched on the picks or included with the sale. To use this reference, please place a coin on your current non-Bluechip pick and then compare to the pictures of our picks with coins on top of them. This will help you choose the pick that is closest to your current favorite size and shape.

I lost my last one and ordered a replacement. The only option I would like is holes drilled in middle like a Wegan

This is the best pick ever. Sticks to your fingers somehow without feeling sticky. First night I used this thing I fell in love with it and since then I have not thought much about it since it miraculously becomes part of your hand. Worth the extra cost in my opinion.

I have used at least 10 brands of picks over the years and found this one to be the best because of how easy it stays in my hands and after 2 weeks does not even show any signs of wear, which has never been the case with any other brand or style of pick I have used.

Bluegrass/old-time mandolin player here. I've tried lots of picks -- there's no comparison. I'm sticking with this one -- brings so much volume out of my Northfield. I was somewhat worried about tremolo but no problem there either. Highly recommend.
(Also -- I had initially bought the speed bevel instead of the rounded edge one I wanted, and the return went through within days. Excellent service).

Bought a CT55 pick. Works well with slight flex sticks to my finger well and has a nice mellow tone. If you want brighter choose a thinner pick.

I've been using bluechip off and on for many years and had just never thought to try this shape. The moment I tried the CT55 my search for picks ended. This is a well thought out, wonderfully designed, and extremely functional piece of gear. It allows me to not think about my pick. All in think about is the music being played. When a piece of gear allows that to happen its magical because you aren't having to fight it. It just works. It stays out of your way and just works. Bravo Bluechip.

I've tried any number of picks and the Blue Chip CT 55 just glides over the strings; less 'noise' and smoother playing.
