1. A new favorite thumb pick for banjo!

   I play Scruggs style 5 string and have tried many other brands of picks. This pick is well designed and sounds great! I bought this one as well as a JD. It has a different shape and longer "reach" than the JD. The fit of this pick is like no other out there. My thumb was in horrible shape with dry cracks from logging in cold weather all day and I came home to this pick...The comfort of this pick is real! If you like to pick a lot and want a clean sound then get this pick. I was a skeptic when I first found out about this pick company..."Wow! Those are expensive picks how good can they really be?" They are the best I have ever tried!

2. Worth every penny

   Yes, it might seem expensive - but I love this pick for all the reasons other reviewers have mentioned. The fit and tone are perfect for me. I play Dobro and Weissenborn, and I first tried the "Reso" model, which is slightly thicker. I prefer the tone of the standard one, and I've never had a problem with breakage. I recently got a new one because I couldn't stand the idea of losing my three-year-old one - but honestly, the old one shows hardly any wear despite heavy usage.

3. It works but is pricey

   This thumb pick is the best that I have had. It does not catch on the strings, does not slip on my thumb, and is very durable. It produces a sound that I like with a minimum of scratch. The only complaint that I have is that they are pricey.

4. BlueChip (J D Crowe version) Thumpick Review

   I was reluctant to spend $40 for a thumb pick, but I kept seeing gread reviews on it, so I bit the bullet and bought one. I couldn't be more pleased. I likely have at least 10 plastic thumb picks, but I doubt if I'll ever use one of those again so long as I have this one. I've had it about a month now, and have not had one regret. I watch a lot of videos, and I now notice many of the pros have one. When I first got mine, I'd ordered a "medium", but it took a large, and they were happy to exchange it for me. Good people to deal with.

6. A leap of faith

   You gotta admit, it's a leap of faith to spend 40 bucks on a thumb pick. For years the Herco blue was my pick of choice until a friend showed me a Blue Chip flat pick. It was sufficiently impressive that I leapt and haven't regretted it. I don't know why it's better, but it is.

7. Satisified thumb pick customer

   I'm very happy with my thumb pick purchase. I've used plastic thumb picks for many years and this is my first metal band pick. With the plastic pick I was always worried it would break at the bend. No worries with this pick. Contrary to the webpage I purchased one size smaller than a plastic pick. I'm very happy I did, the pick was a bit too small but easy bent to the right size. One thing of note is that pick itself is small, about the width of a pencil. This took some time to get used to the different geometry of hitting the strings. Very happy customer.

8. A little suprised

   I bought the JD Crow model thumb pick. I loved it at first, but over time the tip of the pick became flat. It's almost like it was filed down. I can only assume this is due to the tip of the pick rubbing against the head of my banjo while vamping. This happened only a few months after buying it, granted I had been playing a lot of back up. I thought it would have lasted a little longer. It didn't stop me from buying a replacement though because the picks are just that comfortable and sound that good.

9. A Brighter Pick !

   I wouldn't have thought that the brightness of my playing could increase with this one easy step! I now love my banjo again!!
   It's worth noting however, that as a UK customer, the product is subject to £5.04 of V.A.T ,and our Post Office in all it's wisdom, adds a further £8 admin charge for dealing with the VAT issue!- thus increasing the price of this product by £13.04 , a fair chunk! Could the VAT issue be sorted out at the P&P stage to avoid the extra admin charge?

10. Best Solution For Wobbly Thumbpicks

    I've hated plastic thumbpicks for years, mostly because they feel like they're going to fly off in the middle of a performance, a distraction I don't need. The Blue Chip is snug and comfortable and definately feels like it's going to stay where it is. Because they're on the pricey side, I've had vinyl pockets sewn on my guitar straps where the picks are stored--close at hand and in plain sight. I'd also like to thank Mark for his suggestion on using pine pitch--extra traction always helps.
