  1. Best thumb pick ever! 5 Star Review

I purchased my first bluechip thumb pick a few months ago and was sold immediately! Very comfortable and the playability is outstanding! I recently purchased another to have for backup.

  2. Stability like no other... 5 Star Review

Posted by on 14th Aug 2019

Always so sturdy and stable, like having built-in pillars of grip compared to plastic thumb picks. Since the styles are arbitrary in design, it could take a few buying trial & errors to find the right size/cut, like it did for me. Even though it's not exactly the contour/shape I would choose for my own hybrid playing style, it still works better than others. Really, the only thing missing with BlueChip is the ability to have the blades slightly customized for individual tastes and styles. If they were able to offer that as a regular feature, it would be like living in a marshmallow cloud dream of thumbpick heaven....

  3. awesome results worth the price 5 Star Review

I bought this thumbpick as a graduation gift to a young banjo player I pick with. When she tried it ought she immediately loved how it played and sounded and stopped using her plastic picks forever. My banjo-playing high school buddie from 50 years ago has been using a Bluechip for 20 some years now and won't use anything else. Matched with right instrument / setup Bluechips produce very little to no annoying pick noise. And of course that beveled edge allows the pick to just slide off the string with no resistance. Save up your bucks and buy one.

  4. Outstanding Thumb Pick 5 Star Review

I recently ordered my second blue chip thumb pick. The first one, a large, was a little big for me. The second, a medium, was just right . They are fairly easy to bend and size to your thumb. They last longer and feel more comfortable and secure than plastic picks that I have been using for a long time.

  5. Best thumb pick 5 Star Review

Posted by on 4th Jun 2018

Ordered my third blue chip thumb pick. The first one, a large, was a little big for me. The second, a medium, was just right once I opened it up a bit. They are fairly easy to bend and size to your thumb. But, I did wear the point off the second one on banjo and dobro. They still last longer and feel more secure and more reliable than any thumb pick I've used. They are not nearly as noisy as some thumb picks I've tried.

  6. Lives up to hype 5 Star Review

Posted by on 8th May 2018

I was skeptical at first and wondered why I had just spent $40 on a thumbpick but honestly, I’m very happy with my purchase. I use it for pedal steel and I really like the tactile function of the pick and the tone it allows you to create as a result. It kinda resonates so you can “feel” the note you just played compared to other often used cheaper brands. I’ve always felt the Dunlop and Goldtones to be sufficient yet kinda clunky (albeit significantly cheaper) and I would sometimes catch a string in the finger opening. The blue chip curls around to solve that issue. Overall, it’s sleek, feels nice when playing, and I will be using this pick as my top choice (and keep a close eye on it as replacing one is not cheap).

  7. Wobble 3 Star Review

I’m not really happy with this thumb pick. The metal portion does not adequately grip my thumb. I tried a large but it was too large. The medium would work if the metal section would hold its shape. Seems like the gauge is too light. The pick constantly rotate out of position. Love the flat picks but not happy with the thumb picks for guitar.

  8. Great New Thumbpick 5 Star Review

Posted by on 27th Mar 2018

I have recently purchased a BCT-1M thumb pick. I cannot say anything against this pick it's comfortable, fits nicely. It's so light that you forget that its on your thumb. While the pick is pricey, you get what you pay for and hitting the strings with this pick is outstanding in clarity. Another good reason to buy this pick is that's it's made in America .

  9. These thumbpicks work great for me 5 Star Review

Posted by on 19th Feb 2018

I know all this is subjective but wow these picks made a tremendous difference for me, a long-time beginner banjo player. A lot of the scratching I got from plastic picks of all sorts just magically disappeared when using these the very first time I tried them. So they are worth every penny I paid for them.

  10. Excellent 5 Star Review

Posted by on 13th Nov 2017

-Feels more stable on my thumb; lends confidence
    -Less "play" (e.g., slight rotation)
-Lower or no friction sound (a.k.a. "noise") than trad. material
    -Satisfying "give" (flexibility factor)
-No sacrifice re: sound, volume, tone
    -Slightly more "focused" sound
    -Very satisfied
