Product Description
The TP is our classic triangular pick in a 48/1000 of an inch thickness(1.22mm). The TP is the same size as the TPR, but has slightly sharper corners. All of our picks are professionally machined, hand beveled, and laser etched.
Quarters, Nickels and Dimes, if included in the pictures, are for size reference only. They are not etched on the picks or included with the sale. To use this reference, please place a coin on your current non-Bluechip pick and then compare to the pictures of our picks with coins on top of them. This will help you choose the pick that is closest to your current favorite size and shape.

Love my new Blue Chip TP48 , it is by far the best pick I have ever used . I started playing guitar when I retired about nine years ago , always looking for better tone . The Blue Chip make my Martin D28 sound awesome . Thanks to the Blue Chip team for a wonderful pick and I got it in Two Days.

The only pick in the world to offer such a high level of tone quality and precision for left-handed people. My TP 48 LH crossed the Atlantic Ocean quickly to arrive in Europe, I will forget the price, the quality will remain !

If you're looking for a pick that's easy to hang onto and has a powerful tone, Blue Chip is the way to go. This thing makes playing a joy.

My only mistake was uncertainty of pick thickness desired, as this was my first Blue Chip. In retrospect, I'd have gone a bit thicker....55 or 60. That said, the pick lived up to every expectation re feel, tone desired, and durability. I keep trying to go back to previous options that I chose prior to blue chip, and the blue chip always wins. Honestly, at my non pro level play, I'd get by just fine with a cheaper pick. It's an indulgence at my level...but an indulgence that my hand, ears, and Martin appreciate.

Without a doubt the best commercially available pick I've ever owned for flatpicking/bluegrass guitar. The TP48 (tri-corner 1.22mm) comes closer to the highly desirable responsiveness and tonal qualities of a pick made from the carapace of a Hawksbill sea turtle (commonly referred to as a "tortoise shell" pick) than anything else I've tried. Like a TS pick, the BlueChip pick material is extremely durable with no signs of wear whatsoever after 80+ hours of hard use. The "speed bevels" on the edges of the pick are identical to how I've modified my own picks for decades now, and so it's nice to have that done beforehand.
Furthermore, I have to give Matthew extra credit for his prompt and excellent customer service: I initially ordered two different BlueChip picks to see which shape/style felt and sounded the best to me. The TP48 was the winner in this regard (obviously), and so I called and asked if I might exchange the other pick for a second TP48 instead. No problem! I mailed it back the next day, and he shipped me a second TP48 pick two days later at no additional shipping cost.
I've acquired and experimented with other expensive, boutique picks over the years, but this is the first one where I truly feel it was worth the money. All this being said, pick preference is a highly subjective topic and, understandably, opinions vary quite a bit. But if you're seeking the sound and feel of tortoise shell from a synthetic pick, you'd be hard pressed to do better than a BlueChip.

I play mandolin & guitar & fiddle, bluegrass but also swing & whatever. I've been playing at a semi-pro level since the mid-1960s. I have bought several Blue Chip picks before, but with the TP-48 I may have found the right shape, size, & weight. The material is certainly better than anything I have tried (including tortoise shell). And the company is responsive. 5 stars and a warm "thank you."

Not sure why, but this size really does feel and sound different than a 45 or a 50. Like all BCs it plays great. Very little noise!

I have now had my Blue Chip TP-48 for a couple months and am even more impressed that when I first took the plunge and blew a whole pile of money on ONE PICK. While the "no wear" characteristic was what attracted me to start with, I was also intrigued by the tone, opinions about which which varies depending on the player but is generally always positive. For me, the fact that the pick "talks" to my fingers while I'm playing letting me know the angle and type of attack I am using and just "becoming one" with my sound is worth way more than the price. I've spent hundreds on pedals that don't do as much for y playing as this simple little pick.
